Maybe I'll get more excited about it as it gets closer but after last season I'm pretty close to being done with TWD.

I think that if people realize that the show is no longer about zombies and is focused on the struggle of survival after an apocalypse, the show is much more enjoyable. The scene where Carol nonchalantly climbed the tree and killed the walker with the street sign really illustrated that point.

I thought last season was just fine. But, it seems I'm in the minority on this board. I think people are expecting to see blood and guys every second of every episode. That just wouldn't be realistic. These people are malnourished, sleep deprived and stressed beyond anything they've ever been in their lives.

The writing, acting, and directing is still terrible.

I agree I might also be out. I dug the season finale fight but it's just a bad show on all fronts at this point.

I watched the premiere of last season and just never turned it on again. Wasn't any particular reason, just kind of done. Still have them all DVR'd and may watch them at some point but I just lost interest.

I feel as though that people who have stuck with it this long will stick with it considering the writing has been sh*t since season 2 and yet still keep watching. I'm one of those people, btw. It has had its moments, and I found the last two seasons to be enjoyable. But it can feel like a grind sometimes.

I'm only still watching because of how much time I've invested in these characters.

However, getting ready to watch a new episode no longer excites me.

I think everyone realizes the zombies aren't really the problem anymore, and that's a fine way to go with me.

However, I feel like I could watch the premiere, mid-season finale, mid-season premiere, and finale and get everything I needed out of the show. Literally every other episode this past season was straight filler. They just don't move the plot quickly enough because they insist on giving each location its own episode, aside from the 4 bookends, which is totally unnecessary imo.

We keep watching for moments like this though.

What happened last season? I watched the first episode and just didn't have motivation to watch more.

So am I, but I no longer feel the want to watch every episode on time (or at least the same night) and am content with binging several at a time.

The ending battle last season was comically terrible. As were the junkyard people, and any scene involving Gregory or King Ezekiel.

I'm a huge Jeffrey Dean Morgan fan. His take on Negan is why I watched last season.

It had a lot of really poorly written episodes this past season. I'm a fan overall, but they are losing me.

I feel like I'm going to say this and continue saying this in season 27.
