No.1 Trusting Bob
quote:

In what may have been Entourage's most poignant story, Vince and E tried to do the right thing -- but it was the wrong decision. Vince wanted to star in a Ramones biopic owned by producer Bob Ryan (Martin Landau). Out of loyalty, E insisted they keep Bob involved in the negotiations for the film against Ari's advice. Bob was terrible in meetings. And even though we're all still quoting him ("Would that be something you'd be interested in?"), the fact is no studio wanted to work with him. Involving Bob ultimately cost Vince the movie. Ari may have been a little mean, sending Bob to the wrong studio for a meeting, but it was a lose-lose situation. Bob's retaliation to Ari was to sell the script to Warner Bros., then an enemy of Vince and Ari's. No matter what, there was no way Vince was playing Joey Ramone with Bob involved. The right call would have been a nice credit and producer's fee for Bob, but let the professionals make the movie.

Without clicking the link, it's gotta be not following through with his Aquaman contract. That was pretty much the one event that set every other disaster in motion.

It's either this or the Escober film.

gotta be the dumbest thing he did. not only because he was fricking that skank and started a coke habit; but because he simultaneously stopped fricking the other random dimes.

Dropping out of Aquaman 2 is the obvious #1.

Which all stemmed from not taking the Aquaman 2/3 jobs. I believe he was originally trying to make both work out (under a director not named Billy Walsh) only to lose out on both projects. Had he just stuck with his Aquaman deal, he would have made so much money and been in a much better place in his career to take a chance on something like Medellin. If I remember correctly, he also had to do Medellin on a budget which is partly why it ended up being so bad.

The worst thing about Medellin is that Vinny just doesn't have the range to play someone like Pablo Escobar in a serious drama. He's a popcorn pretty boy movie star, not Daniel Day Lewis.

I saw the list and can't believe they left off hiring E as his mamager. Ari said it over and over the 1st couple of seasons and even E admitted he failed, right before Vince's comeback. He bungled his career and just let Vince make so many dumb decisions..

So did Ari. I mean Ari got hired back by delivering him Medellin, which almost killed his career.

You realize you're opining on the acting skills of an actor playing a fictional actor?

That's so meta.

Is it a running joke that Adrian Grenier is a terrible actor (the worst on the show) and is playing the megastar? He's awful.
