Well many of us are locked up in our places of residence, and I figured people could use a bit of a laugh.
So, most people know the famous comedies, but what movie would you recommend for people who need a pick me up?
I'll return with a few, but let's get some recommendations for people to watch...

quote:
So This Is New York is a 1948 satirical movie comedy starring acerbic radio and television comedian Henry Morgan and directed by Richard Fleischer. The cynically sophisticated screenplay was written by Carl Foreman and Herbert Baker from the 1920 novel The Big Town by Ring Lardner. Foreman was blacklisted soon after.
It remains the only film in which humorist Henry Morgan plays the leading role, and the material was tailored to showcase the cynical persona Morgan had developed for his radio show.

So This Is New York was one of the first Hollywood movies to use the technique of freezing action on the screen while the narrator, Henry Morgan, spoke about what the viewer was seeing.

It was a flop when it was first released, but is now "a favorite of many film buffs and critics". When the Tribeca Film Festival decided to include a Stanley Kramer film, noted director Martin Scorsese surprised Kramer's widow by requesting So This Is New York, rather than any of his better known works.

Zero Hour
Okay, it's not really a comedy, but this is the film Airplane was based on and essentially copies scene for scene. Watching it from that frame of mind is hilarious.

The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday
"The Villain"
The Gumball Rally
The Great Race
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Some were well know for the times but I these are go to movies when I need a good laugh
"The Villain" is Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret and Arnold Schwarzenegger essentially doing a Road-Runner and Coyote movie for 2 hours.
The Villian 1979

Lots of hilarious underrated movies here. Lots I don't know about. Thanks to all posting. Let's keep this going.
So guiltily, this list is partly for me and the wife doesn't really like old movies.
But I light try some of these...

shite..I forgot about "The Goods"..Maybe the funniest movie about selling used cars I've ever scene. It's about a failing car business that brings in one of those hit teams to sell cars and this clip is a motivational speech that is hilarious. The old guy slays me!
