Was on last night. Man I forgot how good that movie was. Three of my favorite actors. Eastwood, Hackman, and Freeman. I stayed up till midnight watching it. Great movie. My favorite part was when eastwood had enough and got all fricked up drunk in that bar and was about to start fricking people up.

What did he say about killing their dogs and burning their houses down?
Also "he should have armed himself"

One of Eastwood's best IMO. I watched last night as well. I like how the kid that thought he was a badass, turned into such a pussy when he saw William Money in action.

a coward? oh you mean how bob shot two gun corcoran when he was unarmed and had a blown off hand? REAL BRAVE MAN...
Pretty obvious how the movie is painting the real western life, and not the romanticized stuff you would read in those novels mr. beauchamp is writing. Hell, even the protagonist shoots unarmed men.

lil John is a coward, no buts about it, that's why Eastwood blew his arse away at the end.

Didn't say he wasn't. You don't get my point, they're pretty much all cowards...

gotcha iggy, my bad, but Eastwood is never a coward, c'mon.

*** Spoilers****
I don't think Little Bill or English Bob or William Muny were cowards. They used that term as a slur when someone shot an unarmed man. But they were all RUTHLESS. They all had a selfish agenda, and may have even felt bad about it at times (not Bob), but that didn't stop them from killing or abusing others to suit their needs.
You can throw in the head prostitute into the ruthless catagory, too. It was her vicious nature that continued to stoke the flames of unrest. The only guy that seemed to be remorseful was the young cowboy who first got shot. He wasn't even the one who cut up the whore, he was only present. Yet, he tried to make amends in the only way he knew how, by offering his best horse as compensation.
Yet he was weak and the first one to die.

It's "little Bill", just to tell you. I always felt they portrayed little Bill as a good guy and that a smaller point of the movie was that there is "always somebody bigger and badder". I always felt that was English Bob's role in the movie, to show that Little Bill was a bad arse.

good observation, thanks I knew it wasn't frickin lil John, lil Bill I'll remember next time.

that's why I like this movie so much. I can't think of any better words other than it tries to be more realistic, like how they even poke fun at the way westerns were. Remember the Duck of Death?
Eastwood is the most morally straight of them at the beginning, maybe even at the end too, but he'll shoot a man unarmed just like the other guy would because in a real gunfight, that's what would happen. Like he said, he should have armed himself.
IMO Bill and Bob are about on the same levels. Remember Bob shot all those Chinamen for the railroads.

yeah, and to also have beauchamp follow him and enter his glorified novel into the story.

also the shootout in the Saloon was pretty realistic IMO. Other then Little Bill and Will, everyone was pissing there pants and just shooting in Will's direction without even aiming, while Will cool calm and collectively gunned everyone down after little Bill.

The best part is when William Muney started swigging that whiskey because you knew some bad shite was about to go down!!
