Searching for Bobby Fischer.
Great story. Great cast. Likable kid actor. A movie centering around chess which doesn't require the moviegoer to know anything about chess. Good stuff.

Who was this actor? I thought he was crazy brilliant but don't remember ever seeing him again.

Tom Hulce was Amadeus. The last thing I saw him in was Dominick and Eugene with Ray Liotta.
But does Amadeus qualify? It was nominated for 8 academy awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (F. Murray Abraham as Saleri).
It's one of my favorite movies so I don't mind it getting the extra props, but it's too great in my book to be called underappreciated.

You're kidding, right? It won all five major categories at the Oscars, save for best actress.

It's also one of the very few films ever to have two best actor nominees.

Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell. Brilliant story with strong allegory throughout. Even the character names are all tied in.

For being so very awesome, and lauded at the time, it is rather forgotten in this day and age. That's what I mean.
A few of us who go back and watch films enjoy it, but it's not like The Godfather that still gets mentions, reviews, TV views, new fans, etc.
Ok, for something different:

If it makes you feel any better, I have the original poster hanging in my den.
