So glad I don't currently have a SO that would have dragged me to watch this shite
Posted on 11/18/11 at 9:43 pm to SW2SCLA
Why would a guy have to be dragged to that?Does his SO not have gfs to go to such events? You know who wears the pants in that relationship.

Because 98% of women are dumb and/or psychotic

I don't know her so I can't speak to that

I'm single. I wear pants when I choose to

Because some bitches are just like that.
I'll be damned if I go see vampires that sparkle. In daylight.

We had a group of 5 girls each bringing their boyfriends.

Pretty sure every meaningful relationship the girl ultimately wears the pants.

Im not a fan of the films but i went with my wife because she goes with me to every film I want to see and that's all year long. The least I could do is go watch one of her choices every now and then.

To each his own I guess but I just know I would never subject my SO to that. Not when I can just go with my gfs, make it a chick night and have more fun anyways than if I had to drag my man with me. You do realize you don't have to do everything together as a couple right??

most of the chicks i've known who went to see it say this was the cheesiest one.

I told my ole lady I'd rather put a shotgun in my mouth and pull the trigger than go see this. Needless to say, she is now going with some of her girl friends.

Yea this too. I made my gf "suffer" through Tree of Life and Drive so it goes both ways.

She knows I'd hate the movies, so she doesn't even ask (much less demand) that I go. She has female friends who like the series and they go see it together. What kind of significant other who supposedly loves you would force you to do something you would hate when it serves her no purpose?
I would much rather see a movie with people I know would enjoy it. I wouldn't drag somebody who hates or knows nothing about football to a football game. I'd much rather go with one of my male friends who enjoys and understands the game as much as I do. When I wanted to see The Expendables in the movies and knew she wouldn't like it, I went with a group of male friends and we had a great time. My fiancee has the exact same rationale about chick flicks. Where do all of y'all find these crazy evil bitches that make y'all do these things?

I actually took my SO on a "man date" the opening night of this movie. Treated him to a steak dinner then took him to this movie. I will do the same for the sequel if he wishes.
But I actually quite enjoyed the movie. I'm a sucker for 80s action flicks(who isn't?).
But yeah I don't see how a chick benefits making her man go to something he doesn't want to. All it does is give the other chicks there someone to point and laugh at before the movie starts. Same thing when I went with gfs to see New Kids on The Block in concert. Any male we saw in the audience with us we assumed gay. Because what straight guy is gonna see that(hell, even my gay male friends refused to go with us)?

This is key. A little consideration goes a long way. Also, I don't believe that my husband and I have EVER "demanded" that the other do anything. That's prob why we've stayed married almost 20 years.
I go see Twilight and Harry Potter with my friends, he goes to see Jackass and Cowboys and Aliens with his. Decent movies, we see together.

this movie has some horrible reviews all around from what i have read.
2011 has been a bad movie year i would assume.

My cousin (in her thirties) posted a FB pic at the midnight showing she went to. There were some heifers in that audience. No pics. You wouldn't want to see 'em.

I went to see this with my wife and two oldest daughters this weekend. It was devoid of almost any action. More of a chick flick than the first one even.
My wife has read all books, and she gave me the story line on a long car trip, and I think its pretty interesting take on the vampire/werewolf genre.
Anyway... this one is a snooze fest, and really nothing more than a set up for the final movie... which is supposed to (according to what my wife tells me) have some epic battle between the Volturi vampires and the main cast of characters.
ho hum.

Forced to go see it with the gf last night.
Your breakdown is spot on. The ending did get a little better since the fighting picked up but dear lord the first 1.5 hours was super slow and miserable. I made up for it though by "catching" the double feature and seeing In Time. That was a solid movie.
