I didn't catch that implication yet. Washington asserts that he didn't even get the dispatch about the Hessians at Trenton until after the victory, but it was the only correct intelligence so far, and that is why he wants to use Abe. Washington's concern at this point is that he needs good intelligence because he does not know if Howe intends to move up the Hudson and link up with Burgoyne coming down from Canada or advance on Philadelphia.
They are playing with a lot of facts, but the gist and key events are correct.
I have posted earlier that John Andre showing up earlier sort of bothers me, and they have cast him as rather shrewd. My impression is that he was sort of a novice about intelligence when he got the position, and a bit of a dilettante and boot licker. Thus why he was so easily captured.

Amos, is this show worth watching?
I've recorded the episodes, but I haven't watched.
Sorry, I've been tied up with the draft.
Yes, give it a chance. It is getting better by the episode. I'll admit that the first couple had me skeptical, but I think it's because they were trying to get so much covered.
The most recent episode was the best so far IMO.

Thanks. I missed that part, but I do remember seeing the letter getting put on a rather large pile.

I agree. The episodes are getting better, I had to go back and figure out the beginning of the latest episode because I was all like, wait a minute when he was dead one moment and then being kidnapped the next.

I really am enjoying this show. But, I can get why some people wouldnt like it. Its not that exciting, but im a history buff and love the era around the Revolutionary War and Colonial times. And I love all the scheming and plotting in the show. Very suspenseful and intense with not a lot of action. When there is action, its awesome.
As far as accuracy goes, they actually are doing a decent job at keeping it factual. Of course there is some Hollywood makeup on some of it, but its pretty realistic.
And Im having a hard time figuring out which side Robert Rodgers is on. I know he fights for Britian, but he goes about it his own way and doesnt really seem to have allegiance to anyone. Like him a lot though.
This last episode was awesome though. Loved the fighting scene with Jordan the slave. Dude is a badass. Also love Caleb Brewster.... hes great. And the opening scene, when Abe get shot, is a foreshadowing. They showed it for a reason.
Oh and Heather Lind.... Woodhull needs to dump and terrible wife and get back with Miss Strong.

I was really bummed that the new spy with the redcoats didn't pan out - that could've been a neat several episodes. BUT, I did notice he was eating off his fork with his left hand.

Yep... eating with the left hand tipped me off more than how he pronounced his units motto.

Yeah was that some kind of view to what happens later? He got shot. But then he's all of a sudden ok? Wtf?
It was the visual interpretation of Sackett's (stapler guy from Office Space) scenarios that he was writing out in which he would want the spies to carry intelligence. When it cuts to Sackett writing it says "The Trojan Egg" at the top, which he crumples and throws away because it wouldn't work (as we saw). They just showed Abraham in that scenario because he's one of the spies (and for viewer shock value).

Rodgers as he sort of implies in one of the episodes had offered his services to Washington, but at this point had raised a full regiment of loyalists, around 1,000 loyalist Americans.
The show has made him into this very roguish mercenary, with a small band of followers, I imagine in reality he would have been very busy with the duties of command.
In reality Rodgers after all his competence and heroism during the French and Indian War was never able to live up to his prior reputation, and wold be relieved of command of the Queen's Rangers who would be more effectively commanded by HISTORICAL SPOILER ALERT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That actor is awesome.
What a creepy, sniveling, conniving looking bad guy.
Favorite character in an odd way.

Dammit. Was really hoping that guy would die soon.

nobody watching tonight?

I was impressed. Even though I knew Abe and Simcoe would live through the duel it was nicely done, had me a bit on edge.

Agreed. Has grabbed my attention much more the last several weeks.
Abe gets the babes.

It had me on edge as well.
Simcoe is such a creepy creepy bastard. Probsbly going to see his rape face in my nightmares.

Just watched the episode. Whoever plays Simcoe does an awesome job.
Creepy, scary, gross, annoying, evil, all rolled into 1. Even his voice is creepy.
And the officer that lives with Abe, Mr. Baker I believe, he's a good guy. Better than most of the red coats.

Pretty good episode. Looking forward to a Tallmadge/Rodgers showdown before this is all said and done.

I guess we also need to see Abe, Simcoe and Selah Strong face off as well.
