I can understand having an audience surrogate and Sam was a damn good audience surrogate in the first one, but for everyone after that, they could have trimmed a good bit of their role back

Exactly. The human storyline was so heavy handed and cliche.

Optimus could fly in the last one. And he said he was flying out to find our/their creators.

I didn't realize Optimus had ever flown. Seems like he should've done it more often. I know he said he was going find his creator, but damn to just jet off into space like that? Maybe he figured they'd come find him bc space is big and he didn't even snag a spaceship.

I don't know how it could have been that hard to distinguish the autobots from the faux-decepticons

I didn't have a problem with this

Yeah but really, for this movie, keeping it simple and yes even cliche is not an issue to me. The focus was moreso on the Autobots and the other transformers as it should have been. Give me some humans, give them a simple relatable story and go from there. They aren't the focus. But I'm interested to see where they go from here with the humans. Methinks that Cade lets his daughter go on off with Shane and keeps her away from the events of number 5. Marky Mark is more than capable of holding his own as the male lead and being the primary human character.

Optimus don't give a frick. That's all I can really say.

btw, wasn't directing that last point at you just the other people who for some reason couldn't distinguish them. Then again, most of those people are the ones who say the movie looks awesome and that they can't believe anyone would see it and then they go see it, complain about how terrible it is and are shocked that it still made so much money because they personally thought it was terrible.

17 of the Cheesiest Lines from ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’

quote:

By now, anybody about to sit through a Michael Bay film knows what to expect: Lots of high-impact explosions, plenty of urban destruction, and an endless supply of bad, bloated dialogue. But the 165 mind-pummeling minutes of Transformers: Age of Extinction represents a new high in low-brow one-liners, with nearly all the characters — human or otherwise – speaking as though they learned how to talk by watching WWE matches.

But don’t take our word for it: Below are some of the clunkiest, corniest, most appropriately robotic lines from Age of Extinction, all taken straight from the screen. Normally, we’d preface this with a spoiler warning — but it’s hard to ruin a movie that barely has a plot in the first place.

"I’m literally going to kill you." – Cade Yaeger (Mark Wahlberg)

"That’s a bad idea — but I’m all about bad ideas." – Hound (John Goodman)

"What kind of cars are those? They’re so scary!" – Lucas Flannery (T.J. Miller)

"I’m Galvatron!" – Galvatron (Frank Welker)

"This one’s for you, A-hole!" – Crosshairs (John DiMaggio)

"Take out your guns and shoot them!" – James Savoy (Titus Welliver)

"There’s a missile in the living room!" – Tessa Yeager (Nicola Peltz)

"When I find out who’s behind this, he’s going to die." – Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen)

"My face is my warrant." – James Savoy

"Take that, bitch! You’re dead!" – Hound

"Human freedom is at stake." – Harold Attinger (Kelsey Grammer)

"We’re retrieving the seed — then we’re done defending the humans." – Optimus Prime

"Prime’s taken my trophy case, and he will feel my wrath!" – Lockdown (Mark Ryan)

"Autobots, we’re going to prove who we are, and why we’re here." – Optimus Prime

"These alien guns kick arse!" – Cade Yaeger

"Come and get some! You’re all going to die!" – Hound

"Whenever you look to the stars, think of one of them as my soul." – Optimus Prime

They forgot the worst one.

"We have a saying on my planet, the enemy of my enemy is my friend." - KG

"I also have a saying, I don't care." - Lockdown

I couldn't believe they actually allowed that to happen. What a damn joke

7. The product placement with budweiser, Chevy, and others was annoying and rolled my eyes every time it happened.

This really killed it for me.

A truck full of budlight explodes and they spend several minutes focusing on that including having Wahlberg chug a beer.

Chevy everything everywhere.

Zooming in on the Tom Ford Sign in the background? Really?

Blowing up a double decker bus, expect it was a Victoria's Secret double decker bus.

Seems like they sold out for this movie

Just got back from it, I thought it was much better than the 18 percent it has on the tomatoes.

Just got back myself. It wasn't a great film, but it was fine enough. Better than 2, not as a good as 3, probably equal to 1. Maybe a little worse.

Michael Bay does need a serious editor though. And I always wonder, because Ehren Kruger isn't THAT bad, how much Bay changes the script while filming. He must do it a bunch.

And Bay still has a knack for shot composition that rivals most "great" film directors, believe it or not. Some of the scenes in Texas were just superbly shot. The confines of China never allowed for much, but I can't believe that a young director out there with a better need for story can't learn something from him.

Yeah he has a great cinematographer, but the guy/gal will never get their credit because of the elitists in Hollywood.

Just saw it.

I knew I was in trouble when I over heard the employees bad mouthing it as I walked by.

Was it the worst movie ever... No.

Was it dumb and insulting... Yes.

The most frustrating part about this movie is that it had such potential.

I'm sorry, but Michael Bay is a complete corporate sell out, and I don't know that I will ever patronage any of his films again.

I would not have scene this one if my co-worker did not really want to go.

Who lets their co-worker decide what movie they see?

+1

The Dinobots were awesome though. He did a great job with them. I do like the scale of his robots, how big and powerful they are.

I suppose he could have gone by himself. Maybe it was his coworkers turn to pick.

Finally got to see movie. Very entertaining and exactly what Id hope it'd be - explosions, some plot and introducing new Transformers. In the 5th one would they introduce Unicron?
