Tom Cruise's worst movie that was a giant hit?

Has to be Jerry Maguire, right?
I've come to realize that movie fricking sucks after trying to watch it again after many years. It's shallow and corny.
Cuba Gooding is a joke actor.
Tom Cruise gives one of his worst performances.
Renée Zellweger is a boring wallflower.
Hell, Bert Sugar steals the show.
Its so cornball mid-90s, plastic, awful cinema.
Its crazy to think how this money-worship, awful acting, plastic, stupid movie was beloved in the 90s.
I guess it was the Barbie of its time.

You whiffed.
The Mummy. It is in his top 10 box office movies earning significantly more the Jerry Maguire and fights with Rock of Ages as his worst movie ever. Compare the RT audience rating of JM at 79% and The Mummy at 35% and IMDB at 7.3 and 5.4 respectively.

"Never stop fricking me!" and a handful of other memorable lines in Jerry Maguire make it redeemable.
Nothing about the Mummy was memorable.
Rock of Ages wasnt terrible for what it was.

I sort of meant hit with love for the movie and fawning praise. Never saw The Mummy, surprised it did so well as it was panned.

It’s “Bob Sugar”, not Bert
Help me, help you.

Your question has got me wondering so I went and looked at Tom’s IMDb page. Good God that dude has made some bangers.
I even enjoyed Legend and Vanilla Sky. You may not like Jerry Maguire, but it is not a bad movie.
Truly one of the goats

Yeah it's hard to find one on the list that I really hate. I want to go back and watch Color of Money again after looking at the list.
To answer OP....maybe Interview With the Vampire?

The Last Samurai

It’s definitely fine not to like the movie, but it was a decent mainstream sentimental commercial film. There are plenty of worse ones.

I second this. I just happen to have watched this last night on Hulu and it's just not very good at all. One of the more disappointing Cruise movies I've ever seen

What's his most underrated movie?
I'm going with War of the Worlds.

actually not a bad film but I want to slap the shite out of dakota fanning every time she's in a scene
probably doesn't qualify as a "giant hit" but I'll add Knight & Day
