i finally got around to watching this. i had avoided it b/c everytime it was posted of on here, the general consensus was that it was too confusing to follow. i watched this today and while i had to pay close to full attention at all times (i did piss and get water a few times), it wasn't confusing.

this was probably the best spy film i've ever seen. the overall story is nothing new, but it was intelligent, deep, and completely engaging

I've been meaning to give it a watch for a while but have avoided it for the same reasons you posted. I've been on a light material kick lately. Sounds like I need to finally bite the bullet and watch this one

I've had it in my Netflix queue for months. I've been putting it off because I gathered from what was posted here that I would need to be in a patient mood to watch. It's good to hear an endorsement.

Maybe I'm not cerebral enough but I thought it sucked

I normally enjoy movies like this but I found it to be way too slow.

It's a good movie on repeat viewing. I did not get everything the first time, though. It was a big help just knowing all the characters' names on a rewatch.

Love this movie.

I wish they would've made A spy who came in from the cold into a movie instead though.

I can't remember specifics, but I remember not thinking too highly of it.

There's a BBC miniseries with Alec Guinness. There's 7 or 8 episodes so a lot more of the detail from the book is included. If you like this sort of movie I would try to find it. I liked it. It's nice to watch something with a detailed and fairly complicated plot for a change.
