Is this a joke? Surely it's a joke. The Mountain is at least a hand taller than Drogo, outweighs him, and is much stronger than him. For frick's sake, he crushed a man's skull with his bare hands.

I'd still give this even odds both ways. Even at 8" tall, ones throat can be punched and ripped out. Chances are just as likely the Drogo gets to Mountain's esophagus as Mountain squashing Drogo's melon like a grape.

This is easy. Oberyn had him, as mentioned by another poster.
Drogo is quick like Oberyn, very big himself, and is fierce as frick.
He would make the mountain his bitch. I think Drogo could win it all honestly in a deathmatch round robin.

Viper all day , err day. He won the fight hands down. Just acted stupid.
You have to take into account that on a battlefield or in a real battle scenario, Oberyn executes him immediately. He only lost because he had the crowd there for him to do his showboating and shite.
I am a show watcher though so missing details from the book may change it a little.

Oberyn had a weapon. And one that allowed him to keep his distance. The Mountain is a brawler, plain and simple. He destroys Drogo in a hand to hand match. Drogo would have to jump to hit the Mountain's face. Give him a weapon of any kind, and I think Drogo wins if there is no armor. But I just don't see him killing the Mountain with his bare hands.

After edits it's Mountain in hand to hand. Drogo is not said to be some master martial artist or boxer. If it's no armor and sword against arakh... Drogo in a landslide.

Not only did it piss me off because I was attached to Oberyn, but I'm fairly certain it's the most brutal, violent, and disturbing thing I've ever seen in any movie or TV show.
Considering the context, with how quickly things turned, how confident/heroic he was right before that, how much of an evil shite the Mountain is, the motivations of revenge and having his own words used against him, the screaming...ugh. Call me a pussy or whatever, but that was genuinely unsettling for me.

With ya. I didn't read the books or the wiki so I had no idea what was going to happen, then boom. I went from euphoria to WTF did I just watch in milliseconds.
