fricking excellent.

If you liked Ready or Not, these same people did it and it very much feels like this fits in the same universe.

The movie really builds up. At first I was thinking, “hey, this movie is kinda tame.” Like pretty far into the movie, things have a slower, more thriller approach. And then it blows the frick up.

I still don’t like the trailer. I wouldn’t have watched the trailer intentionally. But it definitely doesn’t give everything away.

Really enjoyed the cast. Abagail was great. Dan Steven’s, is having the time of his fricking life. Melissa Barrera is fricking smoking. That emo chick look. Pretty much everyone but one character is likeable on some level

And with that… in.

My wife and I want to see this but she’s a tennis coach and our kids are in the middle of track season but when we saw the trailer we were both excited. We just have to get through the next couple of weeks.

Looks right up our alley. Ready or not is one my favorites in the last few years. And I’m not a giant horror guy.

Hopefully it will be on par with RoN because that’s probably my most palatable horror movie in 5 years as a giant vagina.

This is a fair amount more horror-y than Ready or Not. In Ready or Not, the bad guys were bumbling idiots. Here, the antagonist is exponentially more capable

There are some jump scares in this movie. Not many but they are impactful. And blood and gore is exponentially greater than in Ready or Not.

There is a lot of humor in this but I don’t think it landed as well as it did in Ready or Not. The comedy in Ready or Not came from the bad guys being incompetent. Laughing at them is natural.

Here, most of the humor comes from the criminals. In context of what’s going on, the jokes just don’t land because these people are freaking out. A joke just doesn’t seem natural. Not saying it isn’t funny. Just not as funny as it could have been

Dan Stevens is one of those actors who will get me to watch a movie I would normally ignore. He usually picks good projects and ise xcellent in everything he is in.

Agree 100%. The camera angles, color palette, gore effects, etc. are very reminiscent of Ready or Not. Dan Stevens and Melissa Barrera were both great. Alisha Weir is a standout.

Did you get the impression that Kristof Lazar is supposed to be you know who?

IGN did an article about it which all but confirms it because they talked about how it was a Monsterverse movie and so yeah, I think it is.

This was pretty good. Not great but pretty, pretty good. Very bloody and plenty of gore. Acting was spotty but who cares. The female lead and the kid playing Abagail were both good. Definitely worth a watch.

I was trying to remember where I had seen Alisha Weir before, and now I remember. She was phenomenal as Matilda in the Netflix movie adaptation of the Broadway musical.

Good, fun movie. I wonder what an experience it would have been if I hadn't seen the trailer. Still, a great film. Felt like it could have been better had I gone into the movie without knowing anything about it.

A very fun popcorn horror movie. Reminded me a lot of Fright Night.

I wanted a lot more from this one. I thought it was pretty dumb, lot of deaths happen off screen, and boring.

The script was a mess. The story was dumb. You don't care about any of the characters.

Dan Stevens is terrific thought. He's a treasure.

I liked it. I have Regal unlimited so I go to the movies at least once or twice a week.

I liked the ballerina vampire and the twist.

She's legit. I think she has a very bright future ahead of her.
