I just can't find anything on there that I can't on regular TV (with a DVR) these days. The movies are such that you will find on the third page of a Red Box screen. Can anyone think of any good reason to keep it? Not sure if Daredevil is enough.

No. Out of the thousands of movies and tv shows on there not a single one is worth watching.

I cancelled it a year or so ago and couldn't be happier. The selection kind of sucked, and I'm more of a new release movie watcher than anything else. On demand and Amazon meet those needs, and Netflix just wasn't cutting it anymore.

I find that as the movie selection has declined, the tv selection has gotten even worse. It used to be so clutch. Any season of every tv show i liked was on there. Now, i'm hard pressed to find many of my favorites available. It has become superfluous and unnecessary.

Providing new releases is how they toppled Blockbuster and gave people a glimpse of what we thought was the future of home video. When they abandoned that in favor of concentrating on their original series, I got out.

My feelings exactly. I've been pondering that same question myself. I think my $10 a month may be better spent on HBO.

I still have it for It's Always Sunny, Trailer Park Boys, The Office, Parks and Rec, Everybody Loves Raymond, 30 Rock, among other shows. I can watch those series' over and over again, but that's just me. I also love Daredevil.

I still sometimes find it hard to believe that they couldn't find a niche for some sort of video rental stores to exist between the old mega chains and red box which seems to be al that's left.

I disagree about the selection with TV shows. The list of legit good shows on there is pretty long with more promising original content to come. Especially if you have access to Netflix and Prime, it would be hard to run out of good shows to watch.

It's not the evil empire that cable tv is. At least not yet.

Unless I get hooked on a series, I probably watch 3-4 movies a month on it. But even then, it's worth it. I mean shite, it's what 6 or 8 bucks a month? That is practically free anway. Can't even get a shitty fast food meal for 6-8 bucks now.

I watch 3-4 movies a week. Too bad there's nothing good on there though.

There can be but it has to be in the right area.

Auburn has Hastings that still rented movies. A little more than redbox for new movies, but you keep them long. Huge selection if older movies keep then for a week.

I'm in Chattanooga now. Not sure one could work here. Plenty of people, but too spread out.

I've actually been enjoying some of the documentaries quite a bit. I dont use it as much as I used to but for $10 a month I like having it as a fall back.

Netflix loses money on their streaming business. All of the positive cash flows come from the physical DVD business. So as content costs continue to increase, Netflix will increase its rates. Netflix said they are trying to become HBO before HBO becomes Netflix. HBO Now is $14.99/month. Both it and Netflix will continuously raise rates to make a profit and stay ahead of rising costs.

To the OP, do you have cable? If you have cable, then maybe cutting it makes sense. If you're a cord cutter, I don't get it.

This. There's enough on there to justify it imo, plus it's supporting a company that will most likely continue to innovate. I'm ok with that and love to see where their model is in a few years.

Getting Netflix and their DVD package is ok, lots of shows for grand kids and I get new movies without going to the dreaded Red Box which never has what I want.
