This is next on my list of shows to watch. I was young when it aired.

a lot of people love it - sorkin's style grew old to me after a couple of seasons and i quit watching.

It holds up very well, i watch it all the way through at least once a year

holy shite dude google says there's 154 episodes. you watch 154 to 308 hour long episodes of a show that's been off the air for going on a decade? Are you agoraphobic or otherwise confined to your home?

The way things work out and characters interact seems too perfect to me. Maybe contrived in a way works as a description but not entirely. Even when there would be issues to overcome they are perfect issues to be overcome with the perfect solution that protagonists have in mind, even if it doesn't get enacted perfectly. Martin Sheen as president seemed to embody this to me. He came across as magnanimous and wise and in general too well adjusted.

Again, I only watched like 1 episode, and I probably would change my mind if I gave it more of a shot. This was only a first impression.

Well, for starters, it was a network show, so take out commercials and each episode is only around 45 minutes, not one hour. Also, it's not like im sitting there glued to the TV, if i am doing things around the house i will have it on, it is something i can watch and know what it going on by just listening to it

also, even if i did just sit there and watch it while doing nothing else...i think it would be less than 5 days of tv watching total...Out of all the crap on tv today that people waste their time on, i will gladly use up 5 days of my tv watching (because everyone watches WAY more than 5 days of tv a year) on something as good as West Wing.

ETA: Plus there are two episodes i dont like, that i always skip

Martin Sheen's character being too wise and perfect is why I never got more into the show.

But as I said earlier, the supporting cast was phenomenal. A lot of episodes in the later seasons are really more about them and the directions their lives/relationships are going.
