They fricking neutered his character. He was a bad arse on the level of Rick and Abe in the comics.

he was way more of a badass than rick in the comics, remember him clearing out the gym?

But that badassery got him killed.

Anyway, they morphed the characters from the comics so much, they barely resemble them outside of abraham and eugene.

I hate when people say this...it didn't make the season worthless.

everyone in the series is going to die at some point. every last one of them. heck in the comics - who is left? Its a pretty short list.

I used to get pissed at comic readers dropping spoilers. I don't any more. Seems like the comics have a lot more cool shite going on anyway.

I think Glenn will make it through this season but not much farther than that.

It's a good bet Glenn's days are numbered. The Glenn/Maggie hookup has been a total flop. It forced the writers to put Glenn in the "defender" mode and he just can't pull it off. At the same time, it pissed off all the guys who want their dreams to live on.

There's too many key players in the series right now and Gimple will start eliminating them at a pretty rapid pace...with Eugene, Abraham and Glenn having the shortest shelf life.

frick. I guess it's my own fault for reading a thread that wasn't labeled one way or the other regarding comic spoilers. But it was kind of messed up just all of a sudden dropping major comic stuff on the second page.

After all the no comic discussion back and forth in the episode threads I wasn't expecting that. I'm not one that is usually bothered by comic spoilers but this was so damned blatant.

Maybe the OP or a mod can go back and label the subject line of the original post that this is indeed a comic spoilers thread.

I think it's great how they move things along so much more quickly. Storylines like the Termites and rescuing Beth previously would have taken up a whole season. The writers are showing they can have major, interesting events happen and still continue to push the story forward.

While Hawkeye probably shouldn't have said the part about characters dying, it really isn't a spoiler for the show guys. It just isn't.

Would I rather see zero mention of comic storypoints that haven't happened in these threads? Yes. It would just be easier that way.

That being said, between the nature of the show itself and the fact that it has taken so many different directions than the comics with characters, not every post related to the comic needs to be dramatized.

What makes it worse is that we got that gym scene(on the side of the road) and then we kind of got it again when dickface made him get out of the cabin in the s5 premiere. We know what Tyrese is capable of and so its frustrating to see him keeping it in check. Over check imo.

He's the anti-Rick right now, which I guess is what the producers are going for.

It;s been a really solid season outside of some dumb character choices for sake of plot points.

There were two decent "sex" scenes with Maggie, loved the one with the Governor making her take off her blouse and bend over the table. Glenn is a waste with Maggie, so let's hope the new gay character mentioned is a bi/lez lover for Maggie.

o even if you're going to make an exchange, why not do it where you can successfully employ this long range advantage
in an exchange where both sides have to agree, do you think the cops would have agreed to an open area when
1)rick's crew already demonstrated they have would have that advantage,
2)the cops dont have the kind of fire power they would need to counter long range in an open area.

The show has been good in the small view but the overall has been pretty pointless and rambling in retrospect. About the only good things presently are Badass Rick and Badass Carol.

Agreed, the Beth death felt to me as if it was 80% audience heart string shock value. A lot of people that I've talked to mention Daryl's crying reaction, not the loss of the character.

Why Beth would pick a fight (unless it was a guaranteed killshot) with a person she just watched almost own a larger man in hand to hand combat..just made little sense. Not only that, she put the lives of her friends in danger by doing so, which to me, was totally out of character for her.

Rick not putting up more of an argument to those who disagree with his plans is getting old. After everything that's been lost, he's still people-pleasing and it's cost them Bob and now Beth this season.

I hated the way this season ended. But they did it about as well as could be expected, given what happened.

One other observation - Carl was more sidelined this past season than in past seasons. Is this a reflection of something about to happen?

Agreed. I get that the show is to show the human struggle and desperation, but they really need to start working towards something. This wandering aimlessly from bad human group to bad human group is getting tiresome. This season has been a better pace, but we really need them to start working towards a goal or end game plan.

Missed the original airing of Coda, just finished it. I like that the group is back together. Hopefully they can have some greater purpose in their lives, survival is purpose to keep living but after a while it gets boring for the viewer. I hate Tyrese, the dude is like the incredible hulk of the gang, they need to unpussyfy him.

And now my take on the most controversial part, Beth death. I understand that in a zombie apocalypse almost all of them are going to die, but her death seemed wasteful. It would have been better if she would have died for a character that people gave a shite about, Daryl or Carol or any of the main group. This Noah kid better save the fricking world.
