I've never seen an episode and I have always heard it was a great show. Is it all its cracked up to be? Is Chiklis a badarse in it?

Probably the best endings to a series I have ever seen.
It is a top notch serial crime drama, but not quite up there with the wire as an all time great.

I have never made it through the entire series. Was good but thought it got repetitive by season 4. Will have to finish at some point.

I have a hard time picking my top season. Season 4 is high up there for me, but I thought Forest Whitaker did a fantastic job.
Slight Spoliers:
I did think shite got a little out of hand with how many cross story lines there were near the end of the series. It was almost too unrealistic in how much shite Shane and Vic were doing to stay out of trouble but at the same time get themselves in to more trouble at the same time.
One plot hole I noticed was when ICE offered Vic full immunity only if they were able to catch the one dude in the final bust, but they weren't able to because he didn't show up. He was still given full immunity.

Its my favorite series of all time. Go get season one today...you'll be hooked by the end of episode 1.

Started and finished the series recently. Way better then i thought it was going to do. Hooked from the first episode.

man, they knew they had to do something to spice the show up, so they brought Glenn Close and Forest Whitaker in. good moves.

Vic and Ronnie still got Beltran though.
