You know what's a worse idea than a Jumanji reboot?

Casting this guy:

to play this guy:

Well at least they didn't cast Ed Helms so it has that going for it.

I'll treat it like "The Rundown" spinoff and probably enjoy it.

I know it doesn't harm me in any way, and it gives people a job, and people will pay to see it, and thus it will continue forever...

but I'm sick and tired of good movies being remade/rebooted/spunoff/given unnecessary sequels/etc. FFS it's gonna get to the point where any movie that is critically acclaimed will get redone at some point.

I agree.

I'm also concerned about an Aladdin live action movie. Robin Williams said in his will that he didn't want his likeness used. If Disney does it, they will have to tread softly. There is no Aladdin without a Robin Williams Genie, IMO.

The Rock playing the Robin Williams role? Hell no

Should have just given it to Kevin Hart. He's better suited for that role.

The black guy that plays the Genie on Broadway does a great job. He won an award for it.

But yes, there is no doubt even that portrayal borrows heavily, if not all of it, from RW. That "character" isn't even really a written designed character. It's just Robin being himself, which is really cool.

Is it going to be a retelling? I wouldn't mind if the story-line focuses on the world of Jumanji.

What's the deal with Sony Pictures? They realized they can't actually create a good original film, so they have to recycle every notable film license they own?

Robocop, Ghostbusters, Jumanji..

I hope they go that route as well. I definitely prefer reboots that are more about expanding the established universe vs just recasting the same story

Can the Rock not be in a Predator movie for God's sakes?

I rather watch the Rock reboot all of Arnold's movies if we gotta have reboots at all
