No spoilers, however, I couldn't get out of the theater fast enough. Lady next to me fell asleep.

Good thing you started this thread with the exact title as the other Revenant thread.

It was not a bad movie by any stretch, good acting and just beautiful to look at however it was hard for me to get engaged in..Maybe it is because I had recently watched Hateful 8 and it was so very much engaging..idk, maybe if I would of seen the Revanant first and then H8

The Revenant is a far superior movie to the Hateful 8

Hateful Eight was a huge disappointment in my opinion. The last chapter was lazy and hastily-concocted

This

Revenant is much better than hateful. First 90 minutes of hateful, I was very entertained. Last hour sucked balls

Hateful 8 and The Revenant, two movies that share in common a great deal of snow, treachery, bloodshed, and hypothermic dudes hanging dong. But that's pretty much where the similarities end.

I just watched The Revenant last night.
Searched to see what others here had sad and decided to post here instead of start a new topic.

First off, i like Leo, and i've liked just about every movie he's ever been in.

Did not like the movie. Not sure what was Oscar worthy about anything.

Things that irritated me:
-sniping people with muskets
-shooting people on horses from horses with extreme accuracy
-gets mauled by bear to almost death, can't move, can't talk. Son gets killed, still can't move or talk. 10 minutes later he gets buried alive sort of, but now all of a sudden can crawl to his son and talk.
-the timing of the movie. Did he recover enough in a day or two from not being able to move to crawling to walking? how long did it take for him to recover enough to walk? If it did take long, how the hell did he survive without food? The recovery/survival part just doesn't make sense at all.
-jumping off a cliff and not having any injuries, while the horses bones pretty much exploded. Thought i was watching Fast and Furious, Revenant Drift (off to sleep).
-floating down a icey river and not succumbing to hypothermia, then somehow starting a small fire when you get out with the powder that somehow stayed dry, and you get off on the side the river that had 0 trees nearby and snow everywhere, when the other side of the river was a forest, but he somehow got a fire started easily, which he did throughout the movie. If Les Stroud has trouble making fire most of the time, then everyone else on this planet will too.
-and oh yeah, starting a fire inside the mini cave you dug out in the ice. That was one of the dumbest things in the movie. For one, there were not trees around, and everything is wet from the snow so even starting a fire would have been extremely difficult. Secondly the ice will melt and make you soaking wet, before it completely collapses on top of you after you melted enough away.
-who the frick is powaqa or whatever the hell that name was? Was i supposed to assume that was the indian girl getting raped, or should i just forget about that part since it had no bearing on the movie whatsoever? Was that the Powaqa girl at the end with her dad that said not a single word or even made a gesture?
- so you cut open your horse and get naked and jump on in, and that's going to keep you warm. Give me a break. This isn't Empire Strikes Back.
- movie was entirely too long

I had no idea what the movie was about before watching it. Realized it was a revenge movie slowly playing out and the ending was just boring and i have no idea what i was supposed to take away from this movie. This movie seemed like it was supposed to be raw and natural, and all i saw was a hollywood movie full of unrealistic events and scenarios following a simple revenge plot.

I usually will watch any Leo movie if it's on tv, this one, i would not watch again.

So you didn't pay attention...

I've never been inside a horse, but I'm guessing it would definitely help to keep you warm

But I do agree it's not a very rewatchable movie at all, and they could have been more clear on the timeline with his injuries healing. Still liked it tho
