Anyone checked it out yet? It dropped today.
Official synopsis:
This sounds intriguing
Official synopsis:

Patriot (2015)
To prevent Iran from going nuclear, intelligence officer John Tavner must forgo all safety nets and assume a perilous "non-official cover" -- that of a mid-level employee at a Midwestern industrial piping firm.
This sounds intriguing
quote:
The cleverest and most hilarious bit, so perfectly used in the pilot (and one that should definitely be reprised more often in subsequent episodes) revolves around central figure John Tavner (Michael Dorman of Wonderland). A U.S. intelligence officer who recently killed the wrong target, he is emotionally suffering from it and finding some measure of peace by smoking tons of pot and singing very, very detailed folk songs about his secret spy missions.

I saw the pilot and it was pretty good. I'll watch the rest.

I'm on Episode 3 and really digging it. There goes my weekend.

I watched the first 5-10 minutes of it just to check uhd/hdr settings and I was laughing my arse off during the explanation of a dads concern about his son singing folk songs, and then hearing the son sing folk songs. I will pick it up sometime this weeken, and if the rest of the series is as peculiar as the first 10 minutes or so illl enjoy it. Lol

Well, I finished it. It was absolutely amazing to me for eight hours but I'm not sure how I feel about the last two.
Still, I highly recommend it. It's quirky, funny, sad, tense, and just so much else.
And it's just "Patriot," no "The."

glad you reminded me of this
caught the pilot a while back and loved it. His songs are hilarious yet catchy. It's got a Wes Anderson vibe to it, but not so overt in your face.
Great dark comedy, happy they decided to finish it, as the pilot was done back in 2015

I just watched a few episodes and found it consistently hilarious. The songs are great, him running around and falling down stairs with that backpack was so hilarious, but the hardest I've laughed was when he gave that speech on piping.

I do find it amusing though that they're so worried about this 11 million or whatever falling into Iranian hands and going towards a nuke, when we just sent them 1.7 billion dollars in real life.

I also downloaded the album off Amazon music. It's great listening.

I will when I finish the season. The songs are so detailed I'm sure there's spoilers.

What agency do they work for? Not sure if they said or I just missed it.
