With that said, who is Nellie? I've never seen her or know what her character is.

If you remember anything about them saying they would open a store in FLA, she was the manager of the project. When that was done, she somehow came to Scranton and stole Andy's job

If you saw the episode where they were interviewing potential replacements for Michael, she was the British chick. She is simply awful.

Geez that sounds terrible.

Oh it was just Robert California's character being completely uneven, an the show being close to awful that let her, yes, bogart the job.

Andy quit or was fired....can't recall.

Yeah it is retarded as shite. I thought Andy would come back and there would be some funny shite that happened like the scranton strangler brutally killing that bitch but nope...she is still around.

He was fired, but that was after she forced herself into the job.

When Craig said "she's trying" it almost made me feel like he was talking to the audience about the disgusting slut that plays Nellie.

Thought the same thing.

But surely the creators are smart enough to realize that the Nellie character isn't working (or that actress in general), and hopefully they do something about it. Soon.

And I also agree on Robert California. I've never been crazy about him, but I did like him at first. But now it seems like he's a distraction and completely out of place. Also, his character has completely changed from a sort of wise, mysterious leader in his own world into a bit of a bumbling idiot who doesn't make any sense and caters to undeserving others.

I am the same way. What was so great about him at first was he seemed like a genius who could deconstruct anyone and convince them to do anything. They've pretty much stripped him of that ability.

this. And it was a quick drop off too. I wonder if it had something to do with his marital problems

This is my biggest problem with the season. Maybe they can explain Robert's change with his wife leaving, but it just doesn't feel right. He went from being a coherent business man to discussing erectile dysfunction at a company wide meeting. That is ridiculous. He scared the bejeesus out of everyone and then lets Nellie basically do the same thing to him later in the season. It is just simply ridiculous and bad writing.

Does anyone know if they changed writers? I don't see how the show can fall off like this....

Exactly.

When he first started, remember Gabe and Ryan were all up on his nuts. Like the episode when they went to RC's house, which was a couple before the FL episodes I think. So go from that episode to now, and he's a complete idiot talking about inappropriate shite like you said and basically looking completely inept at his job. It's an almost complete reversal of his character actually. Confident businessman who is wise and a great leader, even if his method is a bit difficult to understand, and he could make the hard decisions and make them well.

And now he sucks.

Everything I read at the end of last season was that the writers wanted her to take over as manager, but the fan reaction was so poor. So lets go ahead and force her in anyways.

I actually was excited about where they could go with this. He a Dwight played off each other very well in last seasons finale, and even the beginning of this season. Then it just has gotten sad.

Ive been watching old episodes on netflix from season 2-3. It's amazing how far this show has fallen. Go back and watch Phyllis' Wedding, then one of the new episodes. Wow.

The problem is that it is NBC's highest rated show on Thursday night, so if you want them to keep Parks and Rec and Community, they almost have to keep The Office.

I remember reading that as well. It's amazing they not did they bring her back, they made her the centerpiece for half a season.

It's a completely different show now. Pam is unattractive and unlikeable. Kevin is borderline retarded. Ryan is not even in the same universe as he was as the Temp. You'd never know that Andy was engaged to Angela at one point. The shows revolved around something simple and normal, like a basketball game. Now they have so many storylines, you could go weeks without seeing them again.....such as Darryl and the girl from the warehouse or Dwight & Angela's baby. They also get lazy by completely dropping characters without any explanation....like the hot temp girl.

Seinfeld knew when to end, Friends knew when to end, Everybody Loves Raymond knew when to end, why can't the creators of The Office see the obvious which lies in front of them? The show is dead. In fact, I would even go so far as to say it is beyond dead. It's been dead since the season before Michael left the show.
