He's been good in everything I've seen him in.

Yeah I think his acting is fine, I just normally hate his characters.
Also. Can't get past how cripplingly awful it would feel to wake up in the same house as a dead body, and not have any recollection of how the night ended.

Well that was the connection that I made
Maybe it's more about his mom starting to think Nas isn't as innocent as she thinks if they are a really strict religious family.

The killer is the silent black guy that was walking with Bodi

Could be. Or it could be a red herring, like the other handful of potential suspects they alluded to in the first 2 episodes.

Yeah the whole thing was kinda strange. I guess that is the sheltered immigrant life

Can someone tell me why the step dad got another acting job? I hated him in House of Cards, now this?

Yeah I've never understood the hate for him on here

One thing I like about the show is the characters are realistic. They're not oversimplified as "good guys" or "bad guys".
Yes, I think most viewers are cheering for Naz and he's probably innocent, but he kind of dug his own grave through a number of mishaps. Also, who knows what could happen when an impressionable young man on drugs for the first time is under the spell of a siren. He stabbed her once when she asked. Who's to say she didn't ask for more later when he was even more under her trance?
Stone also seems like a guy we want to root for - he's the every-man underdog - but is he just happy to have the client and paycheck? To what extent can Naz trust him with his life and his devotion to the case?
Box is complicated as well. He plays good cop when needed and is known to bend the rules. We've seen him attempt to be a manipulative "subtle beast", but the show indicates that despite the evidence, he knows something isn't right about Naz as the murderer.
In a way, I'm cheering for all of the characters (as of now) even though they're on opposing sides. It'll be interesting to see how Stone and Box continue to evolve and if we'll be forced to choose a side for Naz.

I haven't read but the last couple pages but has anyone mentioned that the police broke chain of custody with the knife and clothes? So most likely that will get thrown out if it goes to court.
They really made sure that all the shots focused on the videos at each location too.
I want to say that the step dad was involved out of the gate but that seems to simple. I think the killer will be someone we haven't seen yet.

Just read this on a fan theory site:

Naz's Mother Covered Up Important Evidence
While Detective Box and his team are searching Khan's house and seizing evidence for the case, Naz's mother is in his room searching through some of her son's things. In the following scene, she's downstairs in the living room, and the washing machine is running loudly upstairs. She tells Box that she's running a load of laundry, but the machine wasn't running only moments before. She was definitely up to something. I wonder what she found that she thought she had to cover up...

I'm very curious about his past. His ex-wife is worried if he'll be able to handle the case and the judge tells him congrats. Almost as if he had some kind of "fall from grace" or break down which has led us to now.

Interesting. It's not like Naz went back to the house so anything she is doing or destroying would likely hurt his case, right?

without going back to rematch that scene, did she walk out of his room with anything? The cops walked in on her in the room and I thought she just closed the backpack and walked out.

And for the record....
I will not let this show consume me the way TD S1 did. I rewatched every episode multiple times and reported back in the threads provided opinions and fact checking.
I will not let it happen. I will not let it happen. I will not let it happen.

quote:He accidentally stabbed her in the hand after two shots & a bump of coke. It's not like when they went upstairs that he had a knife on him. Again, anyone who thinks they would act rationale after finding the dead body of a girl they slept with hours ago is full of horseshite. IDK how I would react. But I certainly don't think "calm" would be my immediate reaction.

Everyone seems to know him though, so I'm wondering if he used to be a well known attorney before he had some frick up to where he can't get high profile clients anymore.
Either that or he is just a really well known ambulance chaser

Right, I don't think he did anything. Just throwing out the ambiguity - we don't know what happened during his drug induced night with the crazy chick.
Having said that, I think the show is less about the viewer asking "did Naz do it?" and more about the viewer navigating through the realities and moral gray areas of the legal system and its players, particularly from a suspect's perspective.
