I would say those were hugely entertaining (especially Boogie Night - maybe the most entertaining movie of the last 30 years next to Pulp Fiction) and most of PTA's movies aren't really Oscar bait.
TWBB was not hugely entertaining. Without DDL I may not have ever finished the movie

I understand that. But DDL has been phenomenal in everything regardless of director. PTA deserves credit, but that movie was not "hugely entertaining"

He will try to make this generations A Bridge Too Far. Don't be surprised if you see massive big star cameos. I guess it's kind of a WWII movie tradition, just look at all the epic movies about major battles.

This is a great part of the war to put in film.
You don't see many WWII films that focus on the Allies getting their asses kicked (even though I guess it was a silver lining arse kicking since the Dunkirk evacuation was pretty successful, all things considered).

There Will Be Blood was an interminable bore. PTA is not entertaining. He is an auteur, which translates into: overrated assclown.
frick TWBB and the Master. Boogie Nights was the only good movie I've seen PTA make, though admittedly I have not seen everything he's ever done. Punch Drunk was ok.
The only problem with Nolan is that his movies invite so much analysis in the plot that people shite on him when they find holes, as if every other plot ever written doesn't have holes.

The Prestige, Memento and Inception are all better than anything PTA has done for what Nolan did with the story structure alone. The fact that the entire movie of the Prestige is a magic trick is absolutely wonderful.

Agreed, except for Magnolia. Something about that movie struck a chord with me, and I have a difficult time finding many others that I like more than it.
