That's a hell of a cast for the best director of our time

Cillian, what's with the hair bro? You're not always a Peaky Blinder.

Yep, I'm definitely in when PTA is making a new movie.

I want him to make a good movie again. His last two were very underwhelming. I think he's a decent director with a lot of potential.

PTA started off strong, but he has faded with his last few. TWBB was good, but without DDL it would not have been. The Master was a mess. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't very good neither. I haven't even seen Inherent Vice.

I was a huge fan of PTA for the longest time. Magnolia and Memento are two classics, and I thought PTA and Nolan were the future great directors at that time. Now Nolan stands above all others.

I hope there's a scene where Hardy puts on a gas mask and does the Bane voice.

Fantastic cast. Hopefully it will be better than interstellar.

Astonishing criticism.

He said "of our time" not recent what have you done for me lately.

Boogie Nights
There Will Be Blood
Magnolia
Punch Drunk Love
Hard Eight
Inherent Vice
The Master

Is Greater than >

Interstellar
Memento
Inception
The Prestige
And Batman movies.

And will be remembered in Cinema studies and history as such. Unfortunately PTA has been rumored to always have a massive drug problem.

PTA loves him some Oscar bait movies. Nolan tries to entertain. They are two very different directors.

I would say those were hugely entertaining (especially Boogie Night - maybe the most entertaining movie of the last 30 years next to Pulp Fiction) and most of PTA's movies aren't really Oscar bait.

Nolan's movies just don't have any feel beyond the surface...even Prestige which I love.

PTA with Boogie, Magnolia, Punch Drunk, TWBB, you have a connection with the characters and it feels real. I always know I'm watching a movie like a cartoon with a Nolan movie.

Here's an unsolicited mbt ranking:

TWBB
Boogie Nights
Magnolia
The Prestige
TDK
Inception
TDKR
Memento
Interstellar
Batman Begins
Punch Drunk Love
The Master
Inherent Vice

Havent seen Hard Eight.

In conclusion, i'd say PTA has the highest highs but also the lowest lows, while Nolan is consistently on the cusp of greatness. Just my opinion, and I just never was never super impressed by Interstellar
