Ok, not "most influential," but didn't The Office break new ground with being the first TV comedy to use that camera work that made things realistic and like you were listening in to people being normal?
Now, it seems like a good number of comedies do that. Instead of it being on a set with a laugh track, I mean. It was kind of like the NYPD Blue of comedy or something, and then it had the interview segment too.
Seemed kind of revolutionary for the time.

Trailer Park Boys is filmed in the same style though I don't know which came first. I'm sure the British version of The Office came before TPB, not sure about the American version.

For my money St. Elsewhere has to be somewhere on some list.
And I really enjoyed the early Real World, back when the cast members had to get real jobs.

St. Elsewhere was the next step from Hill St. Blues. NYPD Blue put that genre on the next level.
