not that i would expect that you've read ANY books on this list, but yea, Lord of the Rings was voted #1 by 25,000 people, and if you're about to say it must've been 25,000 dorks, the next books were:

Btw, since you prefer Magic Mike to LOTR, i found some "classic" literature that is more up your alley:

I havent read it, but my sister preferred magic mike to LOTR and she LOVED this book, so you should enjoy it as well

You should. And they are classics

At least read the hobbit. Not very long and my favorite of the lord of the rings "world"

I'll pass. I'm not a big book reader. Loved the movies though. I'm also not stupid enough to say that those books aren't classics.

Also, just read that LotR is the third best-selling novel of all time. Not too shabby for some piece of shite stupid wizard book.

Well I did first read it when I was like 13 and loved it. Plus I read it before the others so it holds a special place in my heart

You said LOTR wasn't classic literature so he linked a site that listed their top 100 pieces of literature, and you post something about the top 100 movies?

Do you even know what we are talking about?

The trilogy was great but there's no way it tops Bakshi's LOTR freak machine with it's live action and shitty animation splicing. I'm not saying it's not a work of art. I'm just saying I don't like art.

Your list blows and the best LOTR can do it #50 on a credible site

Ranking movies? I thought you were arguing that it isn't classic literature?

And if 50 Shades of Grey get's me some freaky nookie, I'll watch it if they make a movie.

I'm still laughing that somebody is actually saying nookie with a straight face in 2012

Well I guess that since 25,000 people in England voted on it I guess that means it's the truth. Especially on some obscure little website that is full of credibility.

its 25,000 people that disagree with your sleeveless plaid button down point of view, the site it comes from doesnt matter, the point is that 25,000 people consider it the greatest work of the 20th century.

So from what you said about Magic Mike earlier and 50 Shades of Gray, here, you're only movie criteria is basically "Can it get me laid?"

your own sexual issues aside, lets see how that relates to the list of movies (which has no bearing in the discussion since we were talking about literature, dumbass) that you posted.

Number 1 was Citizen Kane, something tells me you wont be getting much nookie from this one, hell soemthing tells me you've never even seen it.

And you're bashing Lord of the Rings for being #50 on the list of "Greatest Movies fricking Ever"?

did you see what movies were 51-100?

here's a sample:

Taxi Driver, Network, A Clockwork Orange, Saving Private Ryan, etc...

hell, fricking BEN HUR came in at #100.

if you think LOTR is crap because its the 50th greatest movie of all time, then you must REALLY hate The Silence of the Lambs (# 74) and Pump Fiction (#94)

Not to mention all 3 of the movies were nominated for Best Picture and Return of the King won it.

it's kind of strange that's the route you chose to take with your response. have you thought of reasons you might react that way?

LOTR is the only friggin movie/book on here that get so many of you dorks all worked up. This will be 10-20 pages of a love fest for some wierd fantasy you clowns wish you were in. This is some sort of wierd obsession only nerds will understand and will never have a normal life.

It just hit me that you're most likely an ignorant redneck. That post reads exactly like a post from King would.
