Going to see it tonight. Since this is Houma I am positive the Real 3D is not worth it. 2D it is.

2D. 3D aggravates my headache problem.

What's the difference between 3D and Imax 3D

IMAX has infinitely better sound too. I saw it with and without IMAX and could tell a huge difference. The audio difference is greater than the visual IMO.

Its showing only IMAX 3D at the rave. I didn't want to wear those glasses. Just wanted IMAX.

Yeah the 3D isn't really noticeable in this movie.. The preview for Star Trek is awesome in 3D though

IMAX 3D. Previews alone, particularly the 10 minute Star Trek trailer, made it worth it. I will be seeing it again in IMAX 3D and probably 3rd time.

What is the movie tavern? Sounds interesting.
I saw it in IMAX 3D. While the 3D is good, it wasn't really necessary, and it didn't really add anything to the experience. Avatar was a movie where I really enjoyed the 3D experience. I was kind of in awe with how cool it looked, and thought it was worth seeing it in 3D. Of course that's about all I thought Avatar was good for. The actual movie sucked, in my opinion.
I do want to see the hobbit in 3D at 48fps, despite the negative reviews. But I think 2D is probably the way to go, at least for first viewing. I think everyone should at least try to go see it at 48fps if they have the money.
But really, I just want the hobbit to look good in 2D. I don't really care much about 3D when it comes to Middle Earth.

Movie Tavern is a chain of theaters that serves alcohol and food while you watch the movie. That sounds distracting but it's really not. Waiters crouch and don't bother you unless you turn the LED light on your table on requesting service. Only other time they come to you is before the movie starts and about 45 minutes before it ends to bring the check.
They have huge comfortable reclining chairs, good food and drinks, and reasonable prices. Even ticket prices are cheaper because they expect you to buy food or drinks.
We've had one in Atlanta for awhile now, but they just opened one down the road in Suwanee. First time I went was for Prometheus opening weekend and I've only seen a movie somewhere other than MT once since then.

So can anyone talk about the 48fps option? I'm finally going to see it tomorrow. Leaning toward Imax 3d, but if I hear good enough news about the higher frame rate from non-movie critics I would certainly be interested in trying out that experiment. Something new I feel I would want to test out at some point.

Saw it in 2d and don't think any additional amount of dimensions could save that pile of shite.

So why didn't you like it?
Posted on 12/19/12 at 6:54 am to Neauxla
3D literally makes me sick, so regular 2D, please.
Also, I'm going to ask if they'll show it in 12 FPS.

Did you like Lord of the rings?
I thought it was great but I was also a big fan of Lord of the rings.

I'm admittedly not a huge LOTR fan but I can recognize that they are solid movies. I just didn't respect the hobbit the same way. I think it's for hardcore LOTR fans only.
