I'm not sure these thing ever work out with the actual best being the winner (I'm thinking the most beautiful actress thread and the superhero/supervillain threads). But they sure can be a lot of fun along the way.

The superhero/super villain one probably did the best. We got all the way through both the superheroes and the super villains. I think we then got greedy and tried to combine the top few of each, and that died on the vine.

But most of these things never get to the finals.

No, but it is pretty bad. I was an early fan of TNG, but it does not age well because of this very problem of the early episodes.

DS9 (which I did not like at first, but I definitely warmed up to) - while not perfect, is clearly the 2nd best Star Trek series, with TNG coming in 3rd.
