i was pretty surprised to see Sean Connery in that costner robin hood prince of theives.

if i had to pick a tom cruise cameo it would be austin powers (although some might say young guns, eh?)

my favorite is a cameo that isn't really a cameo because the actor/actress isn't that big a deal. i guess my best example would be jerry o connell in can't hardly wait.

Todd Phillips in most of his movies is hilarious, but Old School was the best.

As for the hate for Tropic Thunder and Tom Cruise, I left Pineapple Express in the middle of that shitfest to go watch Tropic Thunder.

The only thing that was wrong with Tropic Thunder was Jack Black's character, and he was perfect as an over the top washout comedian a la Eddie Murphy, the character was just annoying as frick. Obviously, RDJ made the movie, but Tom Cruise was hilarious in it and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get off their "cool pedestal" and join the ranks of the unwashed. We have more fun.

PS - I hate Nickelback and Tyler Perry.

I agree. I actually must have been under a rock because I seriously had no idea it was him until towards the end of the movie. And I had been laughing the whole time at the dude.

Best Cameo in my lifetime- Matt Damon in Eurotrip

close runner ups

Brett Fav-ra in Something About Mary
Brad Pitt in True Romance

Hard to call Bill Murray a cameo in Zombieland because he was actually a character with a decent role.

I think there is a really thin and very grey area between cameo and person with a small role. for example, I wouldn't really call Christopher Walken in Pulp fiction or True Romance a cameo but I wouldn't argue with anyone who did.

i liked TC in that movie as well. One of the reasons for me was because TC normally plays a serious or action star role. Seeing him playing that role cracked me up just thinking it was TC.

Regardless, TC get's hated on around here. Don't expect much support from these movie buffs.

I cannot stand TC. He hasn't made a good movie since he showed the world how bat shite he is 8 years ago. He was funny in TT. The best part is 90% of the people who watched it didn't realize it was him until the credits. And you think Ryan Reynolds is a great cameo in "Ted"

Anyway this is stupid because TT wasn't a cameo for cruise it was a role. He was credited and he gets alot of screen time.

It's not about being cool. I seriously thought Tom Cruise sucked hard in TT. Actually, I'll even go further into the minority (no pun intended) and say that I didn't like RDJ either, but I never really liked RDJ so that could be why.

And I went into TT wanting to absolutely love it because of who was in it. So I would've been pretty easy to please with it...and I was extremely disappointed afterwards.

Honestly, it's because Jack Black is annoying as frick.

The best parts of Tropic Thunder were easily Danny McBride's character and the Simple Jack movie and how Stiller had to reenact it after he was captured.

Well fair enough. Most people cannot divorce themselves from the picture of Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's fricking couch and just automatically hate anything he does because everyone tells them to hate Tom Cruise.

The same can be said and has been said on this board about Family Guy. I must need to give that show another shot because I loved seasons 1 through 3 but when they started up again, I thought it sucked. Then South Park came out with the Family Guy episode and everyone thought I hated Family Guy because of South Park and because it was the "cool thing to do." So if you legitimately thought Tom Cruise sucked, good on you.

But your hatred for RDJ is inexcusable and unforgivable. That man is pure genius.

Lance Armstrong in Dodgeball. I never saw it coming and actually said out loud "Holy shite that's Lance Armstrong" in the theatre.

I like Cruise in just about every movie he has done. I thought fat suit cruise wasn't the least bit funny. TT wasn't funny except for a few jokes.
