Final episode tonight! Been a real good series, they said they still don't know if it will get renewed.

I feel like with all the crazy shite that it looks like will go down they know they aren't getting another season and are cramming in as many storylines as possible into one episode to give some closure to the people who have been watching.

It was a bad idea for a show. There is a market for people who are into evil but not big enough for a network series. Most people don't want to invite that type of negative spiritual energy into their life. This show is tailored towards weirdos and psychos. There are not many adults with kids and responsibilities who look forward to getting the kids in bed so they can watch evil shite like that. Not really the way normal people want to close their day.

First show in a long time that I will actually be angry about if they cancel.

It really is high quality television on a network. It doesn't pander, it's fairly unique, and it's doing some really disturbing stuff.

Pick it up Netflix!

Maybe it's a bad idea for a network show but I have a feeling that if this was on a cable channel like FX or a streaming service like Amazon it would be doing just fine ratings wise.

That was a pretty brutal ending. I don't know where they'd go for season two. Doesn't really seem necessary to me. Good to see a show like this on a network though.

The show is a sequel to the movie. Geena Davis is Reagan McNeil as an adult, the demon wants revenge on her and possesses her daughter. One of the priests is a veteran exorcist, but he gets excommunicated. Looks like the head priest in town or whatever still kinda supports him under the table though. A wealthy church donor and her group, including some of the higher ups in the local parish, are actual a Satan worshipping group that summoned something, not sure yet, could be Satan or just some demon. This group is also sponsoring the Pope's visit to town, looks like they may be trying to kill him as well.

Why is it always the Catholic Church that has to deal with this kind of shite? Why don't they ever call in a Methodist preacher or something?

B/c you need OG Christians if you want to deal with OG demons.

As for the finale, maybe I missed something but how in the hell did Father Marcus and Brother Bennett survive? Did God stop them from bleeding out or were their arteries not actually cut?

Casting, writing, acting, story - all amazing good. Scary as hell, too. Like the original movie, and beyond in subtle ways.

Was Reagan's right eye starting to move showing the demon is still in there?

He's just locked away in a corner of her brain. He hasn't really been killed or defeated. There's always a chance he could break out.

Caught up with finale via DVR. It was a great season wrap. Shocks. Surprises. And while it seems to have come in for a landing, there are some strong threads that could be picked up in season 2. Cmon FOX - this is really good story telling. You can't cancel.
