So let me get this straight....
Not a single one of y'all have actually seen this movie, but are willing to make judgements on it based on trailers/commercials/reviews/etc.
Good for y'all..
I happened to see this movie, I think it's the best piece of Anti-drug media I've ever seen. It definitely makes a strong argument for why you shouldn't do cocaine. You could come out of watching that movie still not knowing what it's supposed to be about but I could give y'all a synopsis.
A young, ambitious attorney seeks to get out of his money troubles through a risky business investment with a dangerous group. ...It doesn't go well for him and his associates.
This is one of those films where you could say it was genius or a huge flop. There's no middle ground with this film.
Lot's of cool way to kill people so I say give it a shot.

Cormac McCarthy doesn't know how to write dialogue for movies

I wasn't directing that solely towards you, my bad man.

Terrible trailer and the absolutely retarded notion that people will just go see a movie because of a few big names... Hollywood still hasn't learned that they have to earn people's money/time now. it's not a slam dunk like it used to be

It's been awhile, but I have seen it. Requiem is to heroine and drug use as The Counselor is to being in the drug business with Mexican cartels.

It looks the the definition of middle-of-the-road.

Well, that certainly explains the Savages vibe I picked up from the previews.

Yeah as I was watching this movie a thought crept up in the back of my mind..."hmmm I've seen this before"
Posted on 10/28/13 at 6:17 pm to TaxmanMSU
The whole cartel drug thing is getting a bit stale to me, but :dat cast:.

Take a comic book character, any comic book character, and throw $200 million at it and charge $20 to see it. The comic book junkies will come out in droves.

I just got out of it. Had a free movie ticket I was gonna use on Ender's Game but my curiosity of this one got the best of me. That was a mistake. It sucked.

Huh?
Yes 1/2 of the movies out there have really earned the money by making it in 3d even though it has no business being 3d. But yea, they really earn the extra millions of dollars these days.
What used to be a slam dunk?

My wife and I saw this movie last night, and forst the only time in my life, we were the only two in the theater. Granted it was a bit rainy and on a Monday night, but NO ONE is going see this film.
For the movie itself, it was OK. The dialouge tried way too hard to be intraspective and came off as douchy. Cast was ok, did would it could with the crap script.
4 out of 10 at best.

Anyone who watched the previews to this thing and thought it would be good deserves to get stuck watching shitty movies. Couldn't understand how people were so pumped about seeing this after watching previews for it
