I nominate Episodes on Showtime, a pleasant little half hour comedy with 8 episodes per season, on its 5th season now, with no signs of showtiming anytime soon. This last week's episode was hilarious.

Just binged season 1 of "The Good Place."

It's pretty good.

I use "showtiming" to describe a series that goes from being loved to hated due to a network milking it way past its expiration date, like Dexter, Weeds, and Californication, all Showtime series.

That's why there won't be any showtiming.

I did the same when it came on Netflix and I enjoyed it a lot surprisingly.

2 Amazon Prime shows come to mind as hidden gems that rarely get mentioned.

Catastrophe is pretty funny

Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton was a good drama

Beyond thrilled thatThe Detectorists is coming back for a third season!!!

i'll also add the BBC version of Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh. It's similar to Sherlock in that each episode is a stand alone movie basically, running at around 1 1/2 hrs. Excellent detective series, very well done. 4 seasons of 3 episodes per, all up on Netflix.

and finally the greatest comedy ever made, Peep Show. there are a few fans here on this board, but most haven't heard of it. sadly it's no longer on netflix, but it's worth your time to seek it out.

I agree with this. I actually heard about Peep Show from tigerdroppings, and decided to give it a try. Glad I did. It's on Hulu FWIW.

"Power" and "The Missing". both presumably underrated because they are on Starz but fantastic shows.
