Vacation is definitely high on the list.

Those are 5 solid comedies.I'd add The Jerk.The others I'd rate came earlier,like Young Frankenstein,Blazing Saddles,It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World.

Decent list.

I'd put in Young Frankenstein and take out Trading Places.

Read first post and am responding. Caddyshack?

ETA:

Ok, it was Vacation. That's a good one but not all time best. That's Caddyshack or maybe Mystery Men.

And then drop Stripes for Blue Brothers, and you're there.

I will watch Vacation every time it's on and still laugh. Not many movies can make me do that. Then again, I kinda was a big part of it.

Perhaps the most over rated movie of the 80s.

Not really. If you played Caddyshack on a 24 hour loop on the one day of the year where you have to sit in the den with your family you'd think less of Caddyshack as well.

Not a chance in hell.

1A - Caddyshack
1B - Vacation

Trading Places has so many jokes you couldn't do today and yet it still works unlike say...the old Bad News Bears where the jokes sort of feel like a relic.
