Tim Miller is officially onboard to direct Terminator 6 with James Cameron producing. After multiple poor attempts to revitalize the franchise, the rights to Terminator are finally poised to revert back to Cameron come 2019. As a result, he has been working on a way to revitalize the franchise in a big way. However, as he has already lined up four additional Avatar films, he was looking for a partner in this endeavor.

Once it was revealed that Cameron planned to reboot the franchise – one that is expected to wipe clean anything after T2: Judgement Day – Tim Miller’s name was instantly said to be in talks to direct.

I love that it wipes out anything after 2. Let James tell the story and Miller direct it

I stopped watching after 3, so luckily I have zero idea what the other films are about, and I plan on keeping it that way.

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron!

T2 is the best action movie of all time IMO.

This story ended with Arnold descending into the molten metal as far as I'm concerned.

T2 is awesome but if we're talking about the overarching story then T2 changed the time travel rules established by T1, which was a causal loop.

I also want to add that T4 and T5 have the two worst trailers ever made. How about not revealing literally everything and all the twists in the damn trailer.

agree with that but trailer or no trailer those movies are both garbage.

although the first half of T4 was cool.

T2 did this too though. The way it plays out, you shouldn't be able to tell which is the good terminator until the end of the first act, the goddamn trailer ruined that. These movies have a rich history of shite trailers.

I've enjoyed them all for various reasons.

End of T3 was pretty epic and a great way to explain how the machines took over. Casting was shite for that movie.

Salvation was good just for the realism of what the war would have actually been. The pew pew lasers of the 80s was cool, but realistically neither machines and especially humans would have developed that technology given the judgment day and its fallout.

T5...ehhhhh, I enjoyed it for being an action movie, that's about it. The "twist" was semi-interesting, but could have been executed much better. It just tried too hard to include everything that made people love the originals.

But yeah, the franchise is done, kill it with fire already.

The guy who played John Connor in T3 was terrible, just terrible. They should've just let Furlong continue in the role. And this great future military leader getting tricked so easily and locked inside a kennel cage? GTFO.

Did you watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles? It started getting pretty good towards the end and presented some interesting directions the franchise could go in.

Yeah, I really liked the series. First time BAG was a pretty badass actor. Too bad the series was on Fox. It was good because it was pretty different, just seems that different isn't what people want from the franchise and neither is trying to recreate what made T1/2 so good.
