I don't remember the whole series but didn't Tony beat Cap's arse earlier in the series which led to them dropping an emp or something to nullify his suit in the final fight so cap could kick his arse basically telling him he ain't shite without his tech.

Ironman beat the crap out of Cap on the first fight because Ironman's onboard computer or whatever had memorized all of Cap's fight moves so he couldn't get a punch in.

The second fight, that part of the computer was scrambled by on of Caps team, so it was a straight up fight between a fully functioning ironman and Cap. And Cap kicked his arse

i think it is funny that cap says tony would be nothing w/o his tech, when cap would be nothing w/o stark tech.

This. Thor-bot striking down Goliath was pretty much the end of the war.

Random question about the Marvel movies and Civil War: Does watching agents of shield add anything to the movies (any insights or tie-ins)? I haven't watched the show, but I've enjoyed watching most of the Marvel movies so far. I just wanted to get an idea of whether or not the show is important to the movies or even worth watching.

Hmmm. Given the events in Winter Soldier and how Age of Ultron ended, I would have thought Black Widow would side with Cap. She and Stark have never really trusted each other

The show and movies do tie in together some.

Right. At their core before any heroic origins or whatever one is brilliant, lazy, playboy arms dealer and the other is a skinny, scrawny runt who despite his limitations will put it all on the line to do the right thing regardless of the consequences-- I mean that's the basic message of their respective origin movies - being attacked and imprisoned made Tony Stark a hero, Rogers was always a hero, the experiments just gave him the means to be one on a bigger scale.

That is one of my favorite scenes in a Marvel movie. I dont get why that movie doesn't get more love. It did the best job of any Marvel movie of setting up the hero behind the mask. I think they actually did a better job of establishing Steve Rogers than Captain America. It really gives you a reason to root for Cap when he's fighting. I just wish Red Skull had the same treatment. He had a few cool scenes but he was too much of an after thought.

But the movie set up so much in following movies and tv. I thought Tommy Lee was great, really all the good guys were well portrayed. My only complaints was lack of establishing the Red Skull, poor CGI, and not enough war scenes. I really wanted this to feel more like a WWII movie but with Nazi ray guns. I know it would have seemed long, but I wish it ran 20 minutes longer and gave it to the Red Skull.

That's some serious shade on Reed...are you not an F4 guy? I tend to be more and more of one as I get older.

I like the Fantastic Four, but Reed's character is the classic genius who lacks common sense. He is the smartest guy in the room, but he lacks wisdom or discretion. In that way, Ben Grimm is actually the smarter of the two. Also, I cannot stress enough how crappy of a husband and father Reed is.

Here's what you get watching Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter in terms of movie tie-ins:

The first episode of Agents of SHIELD deals with Extremis (Iron Man 3) on the black market

The eighth episode deals with the cleanup of London after the events of Thor: The Dark World.

In episode 15, Sif freaks when she sees Coulson alive. At the end of the episode when she's bringing Lorelei back to Asgard, she makes the comment that "Odin decreed that she is to be imprisoned" and the audience knows that it's actually Loki in disguise.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier turns Agents of SHIELD completely upside down starting with Episode 17 and going through much of season 2.

Nick Fury plays a prominent role in the season 1 finale and Maria Hill shows up quite often.

"Theta Protocol" refers to the helicarrier that shows up at the end of Age of Ultron.

The mid-season premiere of season 2 all the way through right now is setting the stage for Inhumans, which takes place AFTER Infinity War Part 2

In Agent Carter, season 1, we are introduced to Doctor Faustus, who created the brainwashing protocols used on Bucky Barnes, and we see him and Arnim Zola collaborating at the end of season 1.

In Agent Carter, we see the first glimpses of "the red room", the first Black Widow, and Leviathan, which is the primary antagonist in the Secret Warriors comic storyline (which just happens to be the focus of season 3 of Agents of SHIELD)

The Vision

Team Ironman staaaaacked, team Cap AM fuuuuuucked.

I thought Ant Man was on team Ironman?

And Hulk questions - This Civil War is during the Planet Hulk awesome storyline - should be no Hulk.

She's still mad over Cap slamming her in to the friendzone in Winter Soldier.

The WInter Soldier was so great. Easily a top 5 superhero film ever.

So many great scenes in that film.

There is no way this one can live up to the that one.
