I think the whole "teen angst" part of her personality is off putting to some. Her awkwardly wanting the strong, confidant, and taken guy while the insecure geeky guy pines for her is pretty cliche. I think that aspect of the show is what some people dislike.
this is my biggest complaint as well but hey, its a network show that is targeting the demographic that is into that shite so whatever. it doesnt kill it for me either but its something that it probably will always have

I mean honestly with her (or Superman's) powerset you either have to go the Smallville route and have the powers come in slowly or do something like this-- they can't even role like they do on the Flash where he has to find creative ways to use his speed to counter things-- she's invincible, super fast and super strong.

I thought the CBS app had free episodes, but you have to wait until the following week's episode has already aired.

I don't know about the app but I usually can watch cbs shows on cbs.com the day after they air

No the app and the website are one in the same. You just gonn have to wait until Tuesday to watch last week's episode. I would recommend recording the series on the DVR

Just got caught up.

Pretty good epiosde and man holy shite at the Martian Manhunter making an appearance. That's a justice league level member there. The writers did one hell of a bait and switch playing him as Henshaw leading us all to think he was going to be Cyborg Superman and then this happens.

The rest of the episode was pretty damn good as well. Sometimes it's pretty easy for Superman and Supergirl to forget just how powerful they are and how fragile humans are compared to them and a good refresher is always needed.

Kara going up against astra and the other kryptonians is something that's quite a risky gamble for her alone. I would suggest she get Superman's help as the 3 against 1 is not very good odds. And I would suggest the same for Superman too.

This show is getting better and better.

I have to admit I'm a little surprised by the lousy special effects of the fight scenes and the lame appearance of most of the villains. They're obviously not spending much of the budget on that stuff.

But that's the part of the series that appeals to me the least. I couldn't really give a good frick about about superhero and super-villains fighting. The real meat of the story is all the other stuff going on. That's what keeps me coming back every week. I really look forward to this show every Monday a lot more than I expected to when Sentrius first posted about it. Wish we didn't have to wait until Jan 4th for another episode.

My favorite scene in tonight's episode was when Cat makes Kara expose herself as Supergirl. Calista Flockhart is giving the best performance in the series and her character is the one with the most depth by far. I have been pleasanty surprised by Benoist. She's doing a pretty good job with the material she's given. Her character really has a lot of shite being thrown at her.

Superman and Martian Manhunter are friends.

And Superman kept J'Onn's secret.

I like this show.

I've read somewhere that J'Onn fixes that problem by posing as Supergirl in a later episode while Kara is right in front of Cat Grant.

Am I the only one who really wants to see M'Gann M'Orzz show up?

yeah, i figured this was coming sooner or later. I never understood how a pair of glasses kept Cat from recognizing her.

so, was all of the stuff Astra was telling kara just bullshite to distract her from the real plan? And Non actually did all of the killing back home?

And who is this chick with the bad breath?

I hope not. I like the dynamic between the two characters.

Unless they suspend belief, it'd be hard for Kara to deny it after admitting to Cat she was Supergirl when she removed her glasses and then took off after getting that phone call. Cat seems like much too sharp an individual to fall for something too easily.

Maybe, but Kara never actually admitted it directly. She just actually extremely nervous and guilty as hell. But if Cat actually sees Supergirl standing next to Kara, then it would be hard for anyone to not question it whether she was wrong (especially given that Kara has proven to be an extremely nervous and awkward person in her "normal" life around Cat). I could see that happening, and then Cat stays extremely suspicious of it, but also questions it in her mind. But I definitely don't see the dynamic changing between them. Cat has basically been her "mentor" when it comes to Kara's confidence, and I don't see that changing.

Based on her prior conversation with Non, I don't think it was entirely bull. I think she still was holding out some hope that she could get through to Kara and get her to join up with her cause. But it was also definitely a distraction to keep her busy while the real plan was being implemented, because deep down she probably knew that she wouldn't be able to convince Kara in the end.

Also thought it was kind of silly that they did the whole plant the bug device on the guy's computer to trace his email when he was using company email.

As long as Kara works for Cat, all those instances that added up to Cat figuring out her identity will continue to occur. And if Kara and the shape shifter do try and pull one over on Cat, Cat is still going to watch Kara like a hawk every time something goes down and Supergirl appears. I can see where that would add another element of complexity for the writers to use but I wonder how long they could plausibly keep Kara's identity concealed now from a character as smart as they've made Cat thus far.

If it does play out like you imagine it'll have to happen in the next episode or two. At least by the next time Kara and Cat are in the same room. Kara would have to tell J'Onn about Cat p.d.q.

That very well could be. Wonder how badly Alex is hurt? I thought the battle between the humans and the super-villains was much more suspensful, well performed, and more interesting than between the characters with super powers. Although it is intriguing to see J'Onn have to hold back enough not to give his identity away yet still try and win the fight somehow.

And now that Cat has seen Kara without her glasses, even if Kara and J'Onn try to make Cat think Kara isn't Supergirl, how do they explain away Kara looking exactly like Supergirl? How can they be twins and not be related somehow?

Lots of potential mind-fricks to consider on that issue.
