Lord may bankroll many of the DEO's projects. If General Dynamics, for example, were to tell the military they could no longer use their technology...

Galatea is a DCAU made up character who is a clone of Powergirl.

Remember Powergirl (Kara Zor-L) is basically Supergirl from another Dimension (Earth 2?) and with tits about 30x the size of Supergirl's

With them both looking exactly alike. Same height, facial features, same eye/hair color, same scars and moles. Just the episode before she stood face to face with Kara with her glasses off and her hair down. There's no way to explain away their exact similarities. It's just too far into the realm of disbelief for me.

With that said, at some point Cat will become suspicious again. There will be too many coincidences over time, and her investigative mind will kick in again. The ruse won't last forever. Hell, cat made a fortune figuring stuff out about celebrities and influential people.

The only plausible explanation I can buy is that Cat stepped back so she could figure out exactly what's going on. I can't see her buying the ruse at all.

It's a conceit of the genre. The staff of the Daily Planet interact with Clark and Superman but do not think of them as the same person. Commissioner Gordon is the best cop in Gotham, but he can't tell that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same.

It's a literary device that goes back to the Scarlet Pimpernel. I'm glad that at least some of these shows are holding on to the device, if only for nostalgic reasons. It's like cheerleaders and marching bands. We could have football without them, but we'd lose a little of America in doing so.

She's probably in shock and still trying to process it. She also doesn't want to risk her professional reputation on her suspicious of a low-level assistant.

It's significantly harder with Lois Lane and Superman once she marries Clark Kent.

It's happening.

quote:

KARA MUST HELP HANK BATTLE A MEMBER OF THE ALIEN RACE THAT WIPED OUT HIS PEOPLE, ON “SUPERGIRL,” MONDAY, JAN. 25
"Strange Visitor From Another Planet" -- Kara must help Hank face his painful past when a White Martian, a member of the alien race that wiped out his people, kidnaps Senator Miranda Crane (Tawny Cypress), an anti-alien politician. Also, Cat's estranged son, Adam (Blake Jenner), arrives in National City, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

So this week we saw that Maxwell Lord has a strange girl confined in his laboratory. Now we're getting a White Martian?

My prediction:
The girl in Max's laboratory is the White Martian. J'onn and Supergirl will battle her and then take her into custody. They'll form a bond and she'll return as Miss Martian.

Boom.

I appreciate you taking the time to write that but of all that I'm well aware.

That device might be cool to the young girls or comic book geeks that are part of the target audience but it does nothing for me. All I smell is bullshite when they do it so badly.

But its not like I'm going to quit watching the show over it.

Actually no. The showrunners have confirmed that Bizarro will make an appearance and the white flaky skin and black eyes give the impression that the girl is Bizarro-Girl.

According to the description of episode 12, the girl with the black eyes is Bizarro:

quote:

Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat’s son, Adam (Blake Jenner), on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.

I was kind of hoping it would be M'Gann, but I had a pretty good feeling it would be Bizarro. At least we'll get a White Martian.

I liked their version of Toyman. I always like that character when they play up his creepy toys.

Pretty damn good episode last night. Really enjoyed the spotlight on Winn. I honestly expected Toyman to look a lot more cartoonish than he did as he looked completely normal. Well he didn't act normal so there's that.

I can feel Kara letting go of jimmy. That's a stupid relationship and should never happen. It's up there felicity and arrow.

That flying scene with Supergirl and Jonn. Fuuuuuuuck. I can't wait for Superman to be the third guy in that scene sooner or later.

I knew Lord wouldn't just wine and dine like that without trying to follow her tracks. He's going to do some evil shite. I know it.

In the comics, while Kara and Jimmy are the same age chronologically, physically she is about 10 years younger than him and has a massive crush on him.

I liked the more "real life" version of Toyman. Plus, they did his creepy arse toys justice.

I doubt it happens, but I'd love to see Winn be driven into following his dad's footsteps. Heck, I don't even care if they make his rejection by Kara as being the catalyst for it. But again, I doubt they go there (at least this early in the show).

I didn't even realize that Lucy Lane is Channing Tatum's wife. After watching Lip asynchronous Battle the other day I eventually put two and two together

Aside from the touchy-feely angle with Cat's son, last night's episode was solid. The aerial fight was done well and lasted long enough to be especially fun. Next week looks to be interesting as well with what looks like Supergirl zombie-thing.

Good episode. Fight in the air was pretty cool. Next week should be good with the Supergirl clone

Now that we know that there are millions of White Martians out there, we're set up for the M'Gann story. A White Martian shows up, J'onn instinctively assumes that she's evil, she turns out to be good and takes on the image of Miss Martian.

Bizarro.

Also, as an aside, Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl from Smallville) is playing a character called Indigo who is described as a living computer.

In the comics, she turns out to be Brainiac 8

I'm really looking forward to the February 8th episode, which is a twist on the Superman story "For the man who has everything".
