I did not see Astra dying...and I certainly didn't see Alex killing her.

I was surprised as well. Thought Astra might have joined Super Girl to defeat her husband.

I was kinda watching because my lil girl loves SG but I am loving this show more and more.

I guess they will make this into some big drama issue since they made a big deal about Alex not telling Kara.

I'm wondering if "Myriad" has to do with Laura Vandervoort's character ("Indigo", AKA "Brainiac 8")

The episode description for the 22 February episode introduces Siobhan Smythe as a new assistant Cat Grant hires.

Siobhan Smythe is the alias of the Silver Banshee.

Reading up on another thing, if the showrunners want to take a HUGE risk, they might try to go through the "Red Daughter of Krypton" story arc, where Kara becomes a Red Lantern.

I have binge watched all the episodes from the beginning. I will say the storylines have become more intriguing. The portrayal of Cat by Flockhart is very well done. Intimidating, intelligent, bitch, at times with a softness all rolled into one. I do think the actor playing Lord does a good job. Reminds me of Gleason who played King Joffrie. Such hatred for a character and wanted that character to die a horrible death bc of the way the actor played him. My issues are the lack of chemistry between Kara and Jimmy. I know the writers want Kara to have feelings for Jimmy and to long for a relationship. But there is no chemistry. Everything feels forced in their interactions. It is as if Jimmy is acting like a big brother and can't see himself going after her in a relationship way. As far as Winn, he does have Kara best interest but I think letting her know how he felt about her was too early to do so. Let her go thru a few bad relationships/dates and him always be there for her to let her know he cares about her. He knew her heart is set on Jimmy and he was setting himself up for rejection.
Otherwise the show is getting better. I am surprised at the amount of villains that have made appearances. I will keep this on my dvr list. I had to go thru them all before deciding to keep or delete. Hopefully the writers don't blow all their wads on the first season.

How does Supergirl stack up to "the Flash" as far as the shows themselves?

Just saw one of the preview clips.

Holy shite, they are teasing something major in one of the lines.

They talk about the villain like he's some sort of bounty hunter.

Alex: (looks really concerned over to J'onn) "You don't think it's HIM, do you?"

J'onn: "NO. If it was HIM, we would ALL know"

The HIM of course, is referring to "The Main Man".

I hope they go with the original Lobo (big hulking biker) and not "Twilight" Lobo (New 52).

Ok... I just did that thing where I start a thread...then read every 3rd page or so.

I watched the first 3 episodes of this show.

I'm getting the impression I should power through and give it another shot, yes?

You need to at least make it to Episode 7.

Just watched, thought it was a good episode. Next week should be fun with the Fortress of Solitude. Btw, what is Myriad?

I liked the reference about people in that "other" city wearing masks.

I guess they were referring to Gotham and not Star or Central City.

The locations, though, according to DC Comics, are strange.

Star City is located in Northern California

Coast City is near Los Angeles

Central City is just north of Kansas City, KS

Metropolis is in Delaware

Gotham City is in New Jersey, with Bludhaven being a suburb

National City's location is unclear. Near DC perhaps?

DC changes them from time to time. Star and Coast Cities have pretty much always been on the west coast. Midway and Central City are in the midwest, Gotham and Metropolis in the northern east coast. Smallville used to be fairly close to Metropolis, prior to the Superman movie. I'd think that National City either a stand-in for Chicago or is between DC and Boston. Once they show National City having a sea harbor, we'll know if it's on the coast or not.
