Did you watch the production video for Star Wars where they showed real sets and makeup and puppets and minimal CGI for characters? And everyone talked about how its back to basics and back to the thing they loved about the franchise?
Because it looks amazing.
Hard to compare the two in my opinion and they both look to be stellar.

And this is what needs to happen. Going overboard with the CGI took away the magic. No way the Mos Eisley scene would have been as amazing with CGI.
