"The Unknown Known"

Donald Rumsfeld is truly a scary monster.

I've got The Babadook and Starry Eyes lined up right now. Dead Snow 2 is a good recent one.

House of the devil

It's a slow burn but it's a solid 70s throwback movie. I loved it

This is loosely based on a true story which is actually quite frightening.

Taking of Deborah Logan is the best one on Netflix

That one was good. Exceeded my low horror movie expectations. Shyamalan's new one does look similar, but I'm down for similar if it still has a few good scares.

"The Pact" is a movie I absolutely adore. I don't know if it's still on there, but if it is, give it a go.

"Dark Skies" is decent, if I remember correctly.

"House Of The Devil" and "The Innkeepers" are two good ones from Ti West. West is kind of a cult hero in the horror scene. He makes these slow, drawn out movies, and it's off putting to many. Just let yourself go along for the ride. He hasn't made an absolute stunner yet, but I think it could happen at some point.

Babadook is ok. I need to rewatch. I was underwhelmed the first time, but I might have gone into it with the wrong expectations.

Housebound is pretty cool. A little more "adventure-y" than pure scary. Worth the time, though.

The Descent is a pretty good one. Don't know if the first one is still on there. A good claustrophobic jump-scare movie.

I'll go peruse Netflix in a little bit and give more ideas. I know there are some I'm forgetting but I can't remember all of them.

Great choices. Also Oculus if you haven't seen it.

The new one is more based on the obsession with the movie that was based on a true story, . I thought it was pretty good.

I'll have to check out The Innkeepers. I liked House of the Devil and The Sacrament.

Very much like House of the Devil but a little slower. I think it's the same director. It was pretty good.

ETA: Someone beat me to it.

Ah, yes...The Sacrament. I forgot about that one. I liked it. It has a terrible star rating on Netlfix, but I think it's worth watching. I think West is really good and setting up atmosphere and building tension, but hasn't figured out how to blow you away with the third act. I will keep watching his films, though.

A couple more I'll add are The Shrine and Housebound. Housebound is a horror comedy.

I've nearly started The Shrine a couple times, but was unsure. I'll give it a look.
