WeeBay is definitely awesome.

Which leads to the question who wins in a winner take all "muscle" war?

WeeBay vs Slim vs Partlow vs (pre-prison)Cutty?

*and no Snoop isn't anywhere in the same ballpark as these four.

Loved re-watching the show just to pinpoint where each character "fricked up" the game which lead to their demise.

String never should have told Avon about D. He lost his cool and brought emotion into it, and that's a bad recipe. Not sure if Avon would have been so quick to turn over String if he didn't find out about DeAngelo.

Give me Partlow all day. He always seemed meticulous about his killings.

FTR, I find Stringer as a character who absolutely is propped by the charismatic Idris Elba. Also, given the nature of who watches The Wire a character like Bell appeals to egotistic self-recognized intellectuals.

Bell got duped by Prop Joe, the real cunning one, who got duped by Marlo because Cheese was a bitch, which if he had been taken out completely by Muzone in Season 2 (which Bell prevented) Joe's organization could have been up for grabs. The Greeks don't give a shite Joe so the connect could have very well been in play.

Keep the NY connection strong, take out Joe's nephew, possibly bring down his organization, control market share. Maybe get a sit down the Greeks.

Avon saw The Game in slow motion (Avon Enters The Pit scene), even told String he saw Davis play him from "a mile away"...he had a plan, but Stringer was too ambitious. Since Season 2 and 3 were about how Stringer thought he was ahead but was really "Streets Behind"(Pierce!), the storyline needed to move forward about the ever evolving nature of the jungle, The Barksdales were phased out of the story.

Except for Avon, who finally took down his nemesis, Prop Joe via Marlo.

Yeah hearing Clay Davis talk about how he was fleecing String made me realize how little Stringer knew in the business realm of things.
Arrogance def plays a part, but I agree with what someone said earlier that when Avon went away, String didn't have a strong number 2 man or essentially another Stringer Bell to bounce ideas off of like Avon did.

what?

he had already started supplying everyone with cheap heroin. if joe goes down, they all lose. at worst, the others would have helped him

barksdale would then have (1) no way of generating revenue and (2) everybody else setting their sights on them

prop joe saved the barksdale organization in season 2

Prop Joe absorbed the barksdale organization in Season 2 by manipulating Stringer.

Did WeeBay ever find out how the cops found him in Philly?? If he would have known D told them he was in Philly would Weebay kill D in prison? Could Avon save D at that point?

Prop Joe not taking out Marlo was the biggest frick up in the show. It was obvious Marlo was a threat to prop Joe.

Yep, with as smart as Joe was I don't see how he didn't see that one coming. Joe had a front row seat when Marlo was fricking up Avons shite and he took him under his wing?

My favorite moment of the show was Cheese getting popped by Slim Charles.

It's right up there, but Bell tying the Barksdales to the co-op made for one big mess and ultimately to his demise.

Stringer should have killed Avon. If he was willing to kill Dee he had it in him to kill Avon.

"A little slow a little late"

but really though he preferred to rat him out than facing him head on, and Bell had absolutely no muscle loyal to him alone.

The last scene with Avon was awkward between them because both of them pretty much knew they had turned on each other.

Taking a freshmen level economics class and thinking he knew it all. His speeches about 40% days, how supply and deman works, and other basic principles always made me laugh.

And as far as him losing the 250k...I believe it was cheese that said "we sellin dope and coke in Baltmore ni**a! Any of yall ain't got that kind of money you oughta be ashamed of yourselves"
