I detest Jobs and his legacy, but I'll see it for Fassbender.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would be interested in this outside of Fassebender. His story just isn't that interesting.

(I know people worship the guy, I just don't get it. He's a businessman and a great re-inventor. That's about it.)

A P.T. Barnum type hustler with the ablity to convince people to pay ten times more than a product was worth. After barack obama he may well be the most overrated individual in a generation.

He was an a-hole. And therefore that makes him complex. Hollywood loves that kind of thing.

He is the greatest businessman in recorded history, imo. He revolutionized multiple industries (computer, phone, music), and that is without giving him much credit for Pixar outside of buying it from Lucas in '85 and financing it for 10 years before Toy Story came out.

I hate Barry Obama too, but you clearly have no idea what you are talking about regarding Jobs.

Is it just me or does Fassbender not look like Steve Jobs at all?

I love Fassbender as much as anybody, but this movie looks mediocre at best.

JD Rockefeller laughs at this.

Most of his "innovations," were just piggybacking on other ideas. I mean, he is talented for taking these things to their needed ends, but he wasn't so good that he didn't need a pretty big boost from another technology.

His only great innovation was the desktop OS concept (and even that's a stretch) and maybe the iPod, outside of that, meh. But this isn't about whether or not he was innovative or successful, he just doesn't seem that interesting.

Ever wonder why Apple earns huge revenue with relatively low market share? Think about it the next time you're in line to purchase an overpriced gimmick.

I will watch it for Fassbender but the trailer seemed to focus on his relationship with his daughter? Wasn't he a deadbeat dad who tried to deny that the girl was his for a very very long time? And even after finding out he was the father he didn't do a lot to help? Or did I just hear the mothers story who would undoubtedly have tried to get lots of money out of him? I do think I heard he left his daughter quite a nice inheritance.

And no, Fassbender doesn't look like Jobs. That is the one area Kutcher was PERFECT for the role. Those two looked exactly alike when Jobs was younger with the longer hair. If he had the acting chops and had been on this film it would have been that much better.

I like Fassbender but stories about modern businessmen are not interesting to me, and didn't we just have a movie about this guy?

I was unaware that Steve Jobs was so disliked. What's the deal with that? I really don't know too much about him other than he founded Apple or whatever.

He's the modern Thomas Edison. Moreover, he and his overly expensive gadgets have created a cult of sycophants who, like Jobs, feel like he deserves every once of credit for products he simply made obsolete. He did change the world, but not for the better.
