The movie had so many holes.

Rey beat Ren with no lightsaber training. Hell Finn last a while as well. She fixed and flew the millennium falcon without knowing what it was or how to fly it. She used it's weapons effortless without any training. She didn't know what the force was yet 10 mins later is using it on storm trooper to escape. Ren was a pathetic emo villain and Hux was a Nazi/Adam Sutler clone. After rewatching and noticing the borrowed concepts and leaps I give. 6/10.

Here's a huge list of holes. Nsiap.

^^^^^^^^ Please admins, can we unpin this? It ticks me off every time I read one of these trolls.

ETA. Just read the thread. All of your observations are likely addressed on the first several pages.

And JJ already addressed the similarities to the OT as well.

I am sorry a give that terrible article a click. The so called plot holes are laughable, how did Finn find Rey village And why do people think all Finn did was a janitor

No it didn't.

Did you miss all the clues regarding her mind being blocked/memory wiped? Did you completely miss the flashback/vision scene?

No, he did not. He had his arse handed to him in less than a minute from a man who was shot in the stomach by a weapon that sent others flying through the air.

Were you paying no attention to what she did on Jakku? She was a pilot. She was a scavenger who worked on and disassembled ships. She even discussed the MF as to make us understand that at least was familiar with it' issues and modifications. I guess you missed all of that, too.

Refer back to my first explanation.

Your link is a ridiculous blog written by someone who cannot simply comprehend what he saw, nothing more. Those are not plot holes. Sorry.

I honestly do not care if you did not like the film. Don't complain, though, about simple concepts that went over your head.

Why does everyone think Rey has to be someone from the OT's daughter?

Its a big galaxy.

More likely Rey is Hans daughter from someone other than
Leia. Hence the hug from Leia and inheriting the Falcon and getting Chewie as a sidekick.

Good, they need to make her worthy of that chrome armor.

She really should of been the one to fight Finn.

I'm sure Abrams had Rey being Luke's daughter in mind because he likes to get cute, but I sure hope she's just a random girl who was chosen by the force.

38. Is Supreme Leader Snoke actually a giant? Because if not, wouldn't him using holographic technology to make himself appear huge be a pathetic affection signaling deep-seeded insecurities? Even the Emperor never did that; he just appeared normal-sized or tiny. And if Snoke is a giant, how come we've never seen a humanoid that size in Star Wars before?

I'm watching the Blu Ray today and a few things occurred to me:

1. I'm sure it has been said but what if Rey travelled with Luke and Tekka to the remote planet, then Luke gave Tekka part of the map and R2D2 the other part that was already in the archive (which is where Kylo says they get their part of the map). Then Luke sent Tekka back with Rey after wiping her mind to hide her on Jakku, Tekka dropped her off and flew off to another part of the planet to hide her further.

I think Luke has set up shop at the first Jedi temple.

2. I'm really hoping that Rey and Ben are brother and sister and the fact that Luke saw more potential in Rey led to a lot of jealousy from Ben that led to the downfall. This would help explain the saber choosing Rey over Ben. I hope it isn't that Rey is Luke's kid.

3. Finn is my least favorite character in the Star Wars universe and that includes bratty young Anakin and Jar Jar. He is just terrible.

4. I suppose that Snoke is generally considered that he is going to be the old sith Master of Palpatine? I guess it is as good as any and explains how he saw the rise and fall of the empire and that he really knew how to beat death.

Snoke is suppose to be really old, like Yoda old. He's either an ancient Sith or just an ancient dark side user. Rey is Luke's daughter. They need to go ahead and address that early on so we can move through the movie without it just hanging there.

Picked up the DVD and watched it again this weekend. It's getting worse for me on repeat viewings. I'm willing to give this film the benefit of the doubt, but the next one better have some originality to it. I mean, how much longer will accept mediocrity in Star Wars?

I think the line from Kylo when he is interrogating Rey has huge implications. He says "At night, desperate to sleep. You imagine an ocean. I see it, I see the island."

It means 1 of 3 things. A) she was there at some point b) Luke was feeding her images to help ease her loneliness or c) She is so powerful in the force that she was able to steal images from Luke's mind all the way from where she was on Jakku. Her loneliness made her mentally reach out to those who she loved and missed most, her parent(s), and because she is so powerful, her mind produced images from their minds of where they are because that was her biggest question. "Where are they?" But because she didn't know about the force, she had no way to quantify what she was seeing outside of her imagination.

I think C is where they are headed. Which is a lot of fun.

I have a new theory regarding the scene where Rey picks up the lightsaber. I turned on the captions and it told me everything Yoda and Obi Wan said in that scene, and one thing no one caught in the movie theater has a huge implication, imo.

Trying to decide if I should start a new thread or not. I think it would get more foot traffic and discussion if I did.
