I plan to go this weekend and have been looking forward to it. Really only this and ghost busters I was really wanting to see. And this was the only true MCU successor to the original infinity saga.

I really hope this movie breaks a billion and restarts the theaters.

There are people saying it's going to do bigger numbers than IW and Endgame

I work nights this week, so I won’t be able to go, but I have tickets to go see it next Monday when I’m off.

Those people are stupid.

Movie will make bank but the anticipation isn’t THAT high. Especially with lingering Covid penalties to boot.

Based off of presales, the domestic opening weekend predictions from analysts is 200-250 million

I looked for tickets late last week and all the Thu/Fri evening showings were mostly sold out.

I bought tickets on 12/1. At that time it was very hard to find 4 seats together at either theatre I normally go to. So yes, I expect it to be packed this weekend.

It will break a billion but won’t come anywhere close to Endgame numbers

I'm not too sure about that. It's not playing in China.

Why not?

What “rule” is it breaking?

(BTW for those who don’t know, China banning zombie films is what pulled life support on the WWZ sequel. )

I haven't been this excited for anything since Endgame. The Multiverse storyline is super compelling, IMO, and I hate that we have to wait 6 months for Multiverse of Madness.

I really think it’s the first billion dollar WW film since the pandemic. In terms of Marvel movies, the only ones that exceeded its hype are Infinity War and Endgame. It almost seems surreal it’s actually happening this week. Plus, once word spreads it should bring back some fans of the older SM movies that have checked out.

I’ll be there Thursday with a small crew.

Most showings in my area are actually completely sold out. Somehow there's Avengers level hype for this movie.

This film will easily have the biggest box office numbers since the start of the pandemic.

Will they ever release the thing?

Endgame did 357 million, so..

Those people are probably wrong. I'm leaning towards somewhere around 150 mil opening week

Venom is the top opening week of this year at 90 mil, this has a lot more hype.. I think going 60 million more is a fair guess
