He was in Civil War. He's already been taken back AND introduced. Marvel owns the property again. What story needs to be told right here? We've had FIVE solo Spidey films and this is the THIRD iteration of the character in less than 20 years. It just seems like overkill. Let the character breathe, and keep him in a supporting role in the Avengers films for now. I'm far more interested in a Black Panther or Captain Marvel movie... or even Thor, just because that will be Planet Hulk.

Regardless of what you're more interested in, most people are interested in Spidey. He's a more popular character than any of the Avengers. Most, myself included, are very excited to see him interact with the other heroes in an already established universe. That is something completely unique that we haven't seen on film save for his brief (but memorable) part in Civil War.

To your other point we have had 5 but only two have been worth a damn, and none of those are in the last 12 years since Spider-Man 2. This is a different take on him clearly, young and inexperienced. Give it a chance

Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer 2

Looks fricking incredible.

Can't wait to see this.

DC needs to be paying attention to how comic book movies are done.

So no lines, dashes, large spaces, or spoiler warnings you're just going to straight up spoil that movie, then? That's cool.

When a movie has been out on Blu-Ray for over a month and you still haven't seen it...

Why do people keep saying this?

Marvel Studios has Spider-Man on loan. The on-screen character still belongs to Sony.

Not some much NEEDS to but GETS to be told thanks to casting him as a "kid." I love the fact that we may very well get a couple of movies where Spider-Man is actually in high school and a kid, rather than a 30 year old pretending to be. And...keep in mind...no backstory movie here! Oh, we may get a scene or two referencing Uncle Ben, etc...but this isn't the third origin movie for our friendly neighborhood wall crawler. This is new territory.

And like others have said, Spidey is gigantic. Now that he's back home with the rest of the MCU, there's no way they were not going to get his line up and running as he has more potential than the rest to turn huge numbers.

Joint custody.

If Fox is smart, they will either abandon Fantastic Four altogether or enter into a similar arrangement with Marvel Studios that Sony did.

So Tom Holland can be in Venom? Because Venom is a different universe. Abd because it is they should use Miles Morales in the venom universe

Why would he not show up for Dr. Strange then? shite happened in New York.

Seriously you have to go with the comic book tropes, especially with Marvel. Most of their characters live in New York. When a flying bird man blows up the ferry, you'd expect more than two superheroes to show up. But you can't have a Secret Wars sized meeting every time that shite goes down. So one hero or one team shows up when Galactus squats for a dump in Central Park.

Crazy how only a few days have separated the Justice League and Spideymang trailer , but it's very clear which of the two is going to do extremely well.

I know. This trailer is so boring compared to the JL video.

Hate the suit.

My main problems were the 3D Spidey-scarab on his chest, but now it seems that it's an actual bug, so, whatever...

And the stripes on the boots and gloves. I look at them and all I see is this:

Ditko's design was so perfect and iconic, not sure why they want to screw with it to "make it their own".

That, and he gets the inspiration for "THWIP!" when he walks in on Tony and Aunt May.

Luke Cage - wants to be left alone

So does Hulk. I'm sure Luke Cage would have been just as good as a candidate as Spider-Man was for Stark to go get for Civil War.

quote:

Iron Fist - only cares about The Hand

Billionaire with a super power. There is no way Shield and Stark dont' know about him and his abilities.

Daredevil, JJ and Punisher aren't even close to Hawkeye level much less the Avengers. Cage and Rand have super powers.

It's not like they can have every super hero in every film. it doesn't bother me that Stark is in Spider-Man, or that he wasn't in Dr. Strange. We'll get them all together eventually. I'm just making a point that I know the answer to already, it's a comic book movie.

Not going to mention the craziness of AoS and how someone like Stark has nothing to do with them. he knows Coulson is alive. He knows there's inhumans all over the place, and if there's one person from AoS Tony should know of is Radcliffe and what he's doing with the androids. how difficult would it be for him to do a cameo on the show, even if it was just a phone call and he didn't even have to be on the set? Why can't Cap send him the bloody cards back to him with a note saying, "i guess you'll want these back since you aren't dead. I couldn't sign them b/c you bled out all over them"

Am I the only one glad that there doesn't appear to be some big MJ/GS love storyline thrown into the middle of all of this?

Let the kid learn what it takes to become a hero.
