I was very hyped for Suicide Squad. To me it reminded me of Phantom Menance. I was so hyped to see it that upon leaving the theater I had to try and convince myself it was good. It had some effects. I actually used to think Eyebrows was kind of cute but the movie made me lose all lust for her.

just saw it, not the worst movie but certainly not good either.

The enchantress was laughably bad anytime she talked.

Did Boomerang do anything?

I get they said re shoots hurt the movie but I don't even know where the good movie is there.

Was that even her real voice?

And yeah, I'd still bend her over and show her the 50 states.

Just finished it. Not as terrible as everyone has said. I honestly liked it better than Age of Ultron

age of ultron sucked but I at least liked the characters. This movie seemed to think we knew more about these characters than we did, they tried half assedly to throw in some backstories via odd flash backs to little effect

they also did a really piss poor job on the joker and quinn's backstory.....Oh she's kind of digging him, helps him escape, and then he's torturing her...why?

I just caught the end. It's odd that the Mexican was also this Aztec/Mayan god.
I somehow forgot about that scene.

I really thought the enchantress may be the worst villain of all time.

This scene when they're all sitting in a bar talking about their relationships and feelings about relationships is just cinema gold.

I agree that AOU sucked, but it's at least a competently made film. It doesn't have the horrendous editing issues of SS.

Most of the stuff they filmed was left on the cutting room floor. It's why Leto was so upset when the film came out. IIRC, Robbie mentioned they filmed enough stuff to make their own film.

My biggest complaint about the DC films so far is they try to cram too much into the movie without developing characters or establishing any story.

The first Superman should have been two movies. DoJ should have been two movies.
Suicide Squad should have been flushed.

Oh and legit lol at Suicide Squad being 'better' or 'more enjoyable' than Age of Ultron.
Just my opinion.

Did the other footage make Leto's Joker look any better?

Probably not That was an awful interpretation of the Joker.

Yeah. At best it was only a little better than the guy the cast as Lex Luther.

Neither really fit the role at all.

I don't know why it is so fun to hate on this movie. I wish MST3K would give it a good riff...with Mike Nelson.

It's as if DC can't help itself from shoving in as many characters and villains as possible. Okay, we have you a Superman movie with Zod, now we're going right into another Superman movie where you'll meet Batman, Lex Luthor, Alfred, Wonder Woman, Doomsday, Steppenwolf, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg all in one film. Not enough? Well how about another movie where we introduce you to The Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Waller, Rick Flag and a slew of disposable characters like Diablo, Killer Croc, Boomerang, Enchantress, except you'll only get brief glimpses of the characters you actually care about.

Maybe keep your cards close to the vest and introduce The Joker later? If they wanted to use Will Smith to the fullest extent for marketing purposes, maybe do something different and make a Deadshot stand-alone. That would have allowed them to involve Batman and The Joker more, and the other Suicide Squad members as proper supporting characters.

Good God no. No telling how many times Pa Kent could've told Clark to not be Superman in two solo Superman films.

they then try to develop them via half assed flashbacks that don't always seem to fit in

What I'm saying is the movie sprinted through the origin story and introduction of the primary characters to here's Zod, Od and Panty-wad seeking him out. They could have made two films out of the first one easily with the right direction.
