Again, more of an observation than a negative

yeah but CW Ollie is nothing like DC Comics Ollie

I don't know if I could've taken the show if they tried to pump out some of the liberal propaganda that some of the Green Arrow comics pumped out.

But a Roy Harper with a needle hanging out of his arm might've added some much needed depth to his on screen character. Although an HIV positive prostitute version of Thea/Mia might've been a little much for tv.

Well Green Arrow was created based solely on the popularity of Batman at the time. DC saw how popular Batman was and one of the big bosses said "hey, two Batmans will probably make more money than one Batman. Make it happen."

he does not have near the baggage that Batman does.
I don't think the Batman movies have really done a good job of portraying this but some of the comics do:

I think the Arkham video games do a great job of showing you that Bats is a part of that insane world, and not a fighter of it.

BTW...

Green Arrow was originally a knockoff of Fawcett Comics' Golden Arrow character. Before he was famous as the editor of the Superman titles, Mort Weisinger was famous for creating characters for DC based on existing superheroes (Green Arrow/Golden Arrow, Aquaman/Namor, Johnny Quick/Flash).

Green Arrow quickly became more of a Batman pastiche, with his wealth, Arrow Cave, Arrow Car, Arrow Plane, teen sidekick in red, etc.

The similarities between GA and Batman have been noted many times in the comics, complete with Batman complaining about Ollie never having an original idea and the man who stole the Queen fortune and mansion finding the superhero cave beneath his new home and assuming that Oliver Queen was secretly Batman.

Awesome Felicity .gif!

I love how she's always saying some sort of sexual innuendo.

She's a dirty girl. She needs a spanking and a bath.

I thought that was pretty much the theme for The Dark Knight.
