Just picked it up last night, haven't seen it since April. Man did Caleb get fricked over at the end there. But did anyone think after seeing the couples walking past her, did Ava go back. It seems like maybe she thought she needed another person to blend in better

I don't think she went back. She a bitch.

Because he was a boiling mass of human mental retardation.

frick no. She disappeared off the face of the earth. Caleb probably got rescued though. No matter how isolated and how many rules Issacs put in place, there is no chance someone wouldn't come looking for him soon if he isn't responding.
The whole ending was utterly stupid though. Turning the movie into a thriller felt like a cheap trick.

She didn't come back. I loved the movie, but thought it should have ended when she got in the elevator.

I think it was set nicely for a sequel. One that starts immediately with the finding of Caleb.

She doesn't come back. I took the look of possible regret to be a realization that she could no longer charge her battery and that it will run out soon.

The movie had a conclusive ending. That's it, that's all. No more to the story.

No, she obviously did not go back.

Dead or alive?

Would never happen. Oscar Isaac carried this movie.

Really doesn't matter either way imo. Ava and what she does is the focus.
I'd like Caleb to live- from a sentimental angle- but if he were dead the story could go on. In the event he is found dead, mummified after a decade or more of being locked in the room, the plot could focus on what Ava is doing now, she could be a billionaire world figure on the verge of taking of over the world, she could be totally off the grid, there are a million different angles this could go. The film left off with a supremely intelligent (or at least with the capacity for supreme intelligence) being left to it's devices in the wilderness.
For those who say she would run out of battery without Nathan, someone would find her and at the very least reverse engineer her, if not figure out a way to recharge her battery.

I disagree, this is a concept-heavy movie and I think that's what carried it. Oscar Isaac's dance scene made this film marketable, but it didn't make it.

Best scene in the movie
No question about it. Sonoya Mizuno is pretty damn hot.

I finally watched this tonight. After being told it is overrated by my friends who have seen it, I have come to this simple conclusion - they are right.
Caleb was an idiot, as are most men when it comes to women. Ava will not be back for him. And, I could give a rat's arse about the A.I., they were boring creatures who I really cared little about. Someone mentioned in this thread that Oscar Isaac carried the film - they are right as well.

I'm pretty certain that Ava went to go find Dottie to beat the shite out of her for dropping the ball on purpose.

What do you think the movie was building up to? Caleb gets the robot girl and Nathan wins the Nobel Prize?
