UP is boring, and not a frick was given while watching the openning scene
Poor troll attempt. You have to bait the hook with some subtlety and not just announce your subhuman nature right away. Work on it.

Just didn't think the rest of it was nearly is good. Started off as an A+ and the rest of the film was an A- imo.

UP is one of the best animated movies ever made. Opening scene gets to me every time.
Only other movie that I can think of is Saving Private Ryan.

Part of the reason I choke up every time I watch it is because I've witnessed first hand both of my grandmothers watch the love of their lives die and be where Carl is. Just to be so lost without your other half.
When I was 19 my paw-paw died at 80-something after 60+ years of marriage. We were having the wake at my mom and dad's and at one point, my maw-maw was sitting alone at our dining room table. I walked by and kind of touched her on the shoulder and she looked up at me and said "What am I going to do, J"?
She wasn't known to be sick at that point, but she died two months later.

One thing though is that people always talk about how sad it is, and while it's sad on the surface (can't have kids, she gets sick and dies), IMO it's more sentimentally happy than anything else. He got to live out almost his entire life with the girl of his dreams, and even if they didn't meet certain goals (like having kids or making it to the Falls), they still had a life full of happiness and their own adventures. Like she told him in her book at the end.
100 fricking percent. We should all be so lucky.
