I'm down for that. I honestly think a lot of talent on SNL hasn't been properly used. Bobby Moynihan is the funnest fricking dude out there, and he does nothing outside of SNL.

And right now they have an old one with Richard Pryor as the host on, I hope they start showing the old ones again

They're going to show one each week at 9:00. Next week is the Christopher Walken one with the Cowbell sketch.

So this Pete Davidson dude is a total pothead, judging from YouTube. I wonder if SNL made him clean up a little bit.

Cold Opening: "NFL"
Obvious choice. Dragging on, but a little funny. Kenan is great as Ray Lewis. I hate Pharoah's Sterling Sharpe. I love Aidy Bryant. B-

Monologue: Chris Pratt--Not familiar with this guy AT. ALL. But I hear he's the "guy du jour" (JGL, your time is done). Song ok...Anna Faris. Actually, the song was great--short. B+

Cialis Turnt commercial: Turn Down For What Nice. "I'm about to love you like there's a roller coaster in my penis" A-

Lonely Birthday: He-Man & Thundercat come to life. Ariana Grande walk on as She Ra. she's hot. Mom (Aidy) with the super hero train... B

Animal Hospital Kate & Cecily & Vanessa. Have they done this before? All the animals die. C

Marvel Basically saying that we can make a movie about anything and people will flock to it. I like the concept. Funny. This is old school SNL parody. A

Ariana Grande Dirty old man [ON] OFF
Those little cat ears. Over-the-knee CFM Boots. Damn. She can shake her cute little rear end too.
Dirty old man ON [OFF]

Song kind of catchy too. B

Weekend Update Michael Che's debut. I'm not sensing any chemistry. Cecily's "Girl you wish..." right off the bat. Nice. Che is warming up nicely. Leslie Jones is great. Kid Rock is a sheep/goat hybrid. Young kid--meh. "Cheer up Mr. President"--not bad. B-/C+ because it dragged on.

(If that 2 second shot was the only tribute to Don Pardo, Lorne Michaels needs to be shot.)

Flirting at Legends Bar White people flirting with rap lyrics. I like it. Like I said, I love Aidy Bryant. Pratt is not doing a bad job. B+

Maxie OK, I don't know WTF is going on here. Looks like experimental improv/actors' type shite. Probably only funny to other actors. D

NFL on CBS Ravens lineup as a police lineup. Nice.

"Kendrick Douglas: I hit my wife"
"And I'm his wife. I hit his arse back!"

"I'm Melvin McDonald and I sent a picture of my ding dong to Michelle Obama"

A

Ariana Grande Dirty Old Man [ON] OFF Crop top, Cat ears still going on. Tight skirt. Pleasing face. Dirty old man ON [OFF]

Some guy just came on to sing with her who has a large tarantula growing out of the top of his head. He sings way better than she does. Another catchy tune B

Video Game Test I don't think I can adequately describe it. But I'll admit, I LOL'd. B-

Nice start to the new season. Chris Pratt was good. He did what was asked. Was a "game manager", didn't throw any interceptions and let the playmakers do the work. Ariana Grande is so hot.

I give this episode a B-

I haven't read any comments yet, but it was one of the better ones IMO.
Pratt was really good, the spoof on Marvel was really funny and some of the other skits were great. You can tell when a host gets into it and enjoys it and works with the writers.

i love your write ups, but you gave the majority of the skits between A and B, and you end up with a B-? you need some math work.

I give it a B+ overall. solid start. the pre-recorded skits were SPOT ON.

this was my favorite skit from last night.

I like Michael Che on Weekend Update. I think he'll be real good down the road,

Did one of you really say Pete Davidson will reach Chappelle level of stardom?!? The guy is funny but GTFO with that bullshite.

I thought it was a really sloppy effort. So many mistakes and miscues.

Yeah, just an embarrassing effort to kick off the season. Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande were good, and Keenan was carrying a lot of sketches himself.

But there was a lot of flubbing lines from the cast. And Michael Che was pretty bad. His transition from getting his lines from the cue card to his brain, and from his brain to his mouth when telling the jokes was laughable, and not in a good way.
