how often do you watch snl? that's the first time i've ever seen them (intentionally) cut out any comedy from a cold opening. i can't recall what they did for 9/11, but that was pretty well done, IMO.

people who hate SNL will find any reason to not find it funny. i watch it because I enjoy it. plus, Sir Paul is next

Pretty sure that was Paul Simon playing the Boxer while focusing on members of NYPD police, firemen, etc. Then Giuliani and Lorne do a bit before the "Live on New York Its Saturday Night."

See if you can find the video online because it's quite moving from what I remember. And a pretty good punchline from Giuliani.
